DAoC low detail

My friend's daoc looks a bit like quake,it's very low detail because his pc is not so good,but he doesn't know how he did it and i want to know how to do it because when we rvr the lag in unbelievable..

Based around a geforce card...

start > control panel > display > settings > advanced > "your graphics card"

The settings will be in there; I'm not sure whether DAoC is OpenGL or D3D (I suspect the latter), but there will be settings ranging from "fastest" to "best quality" (sometimes "application" to "aggressive") or thereabouts. You want the "fast" settings in all cases. For a full tweaking guide im sure someone can post a link... I can't say I know the sites off-hand.

Ermm...
I think you'll find DAoC just looks crap on his computer; it's not a setting or anything.

Use in game option settings (from character select page).

Put on 800x640 for optimum speed. Note this will set resolution for all characters. I usually do it when sat on portal pad.
