Hi all.

A petition for a european co-op server is found by following the below url.

If you are not interested in a co-op server, then do not bother following the link and please refrain from posting flames in this thread.

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/daocCoOp/petition.html

Once we have a decent amount of signitures, if such a thing occurs, then we can let goa know about it and see what they say.

nice idea, however i don't think there's enough animo for it. This also has been brought up (many) times before, and such a servers means more hardware needed for GOA to host it. Also i think it won't bring in new players, just people who already play on PvP / RvR server(s). So, no extra cash.

I prefer a home-invasion server though :)

Duh... so go play on the USA servers then, most ISP's have great pipes to the states now, so dont complain about LAG being an issue, if you also check the stats youll see there are many players online at UK prime times too.

If your not happy with the GOA experience.... move to Mythic

Invading other realms would sure r0x :p not sure why they dont let us do it on normal servers tbh, get relic raid size force and I bet you can charge some people thru gates :p Signed the petition even if I wont use the server, not fair the US get one and people here dont.

Good for you!

On topic - this server would peak at about 500 people after the novelty wore off you realize? And most of those wouldn't speak English...

I aint very technical, but wouldnt running another server require more resources (particularly if theres a problem) ? If thats the case it would either take resources away from existing servers, or have a cost which ultimately would be passed on to us. Just because the yanks have one isnt a good enough reason for us to have one imo, there actually needs to be adequate demand for it to be played...

Not a flame, just a thought ;)

If i knew what i was letting myself in for when i choose to play EU servers then i would have started on a american server, but the game is long in the tooth , cba moving around, cba playing on another server really, but a PvE server might tempt me. At the end of the day we are the customers, we are always right, GoA are just tighter than a ducks arse.

Besides there are many drawbacks which come with playing on US servers, having played a few other mmorpgs on US servers and the time difference to the UK alone is a pain in the ass, with that in mind any kind of organised event is under a lot more scrutiny, your effectivly playing in off-peak times.

Yes you say there is "many" Uk players on peak times, "many" doesnt cut it imo

All these things make hard work for yourself, playing mmorpgs is about the interaction with other ppl else we'd just play offline rpgs etc and already you have a more limited player base thus making it harder to progress and meet some nice ppl.

Like they say... Better the devil you know. ehh ?

Lol i looked last night at prime time when i posted this - prydwen had 1,300 players, excal about 1,500 and the USA (main) servers were 2,600

As i write this message, Merlin has 1,500 players, thats 200% more than excal at the moment with 750 and prydwen with 500

The only reason not to move, is having to start all over again, but if people are that anoyed with GOA services then take the plunge and move.

Yes but i could have /level 20 (or even lvl 30 if goa were genourous) on all my accounts. The way daoc has evolved with the /level system there is very few lower lvling grps etc, much less than when we all started playing anyhow.

Those 1st few levels make a lot of difference, most chars start to get some of their class specific skills around that lvl. Fighters - parry (10/17) plate (15 or 20) large sheilds (17) Rogue - PA (21) Ablative (30) etc Casters - Pbt (26) GTae (18)

And thats just the alb ones before even looking at the other realms. Prior to those lvls most classes arent really worth playing as there is about as much difference between other similar classes than the colour of grass.

Depends whether GOA think European players deserve the same choice for their money as US players.

Being very careful with any future online games I pay for after my experience with DAoC. GOA do an ok job as far as English-speaking customers are concerned. But only ok. We don't have anything close to the same options that our American friends get. We don't even get the same level of options as French or German speaking counterparts. Calling Camlann the third English server is taking the piss in the extreme - for most people its just an extremely unpleasant server to even log on at.

I'd play a co-op casually, would be fun to amble around at times all 3 realms without getting ganked by griefers but as I've said before, I'd prefer co-op for home realms (including SI and ToA) and PvP for frontier. However, I think a co-op in any form is a good thing for us to have whereas at the moment we have none.

EU DAOC won't get a Co-Op server. DAOC is now an old game at the end of its life.
