Got the demo of UT2003 but apart from it looking fantastic it never really tickled my gameplay bone. To be honest, I only played UT because us General peeps were having a kickabout. As a game it never caught me either.

I desperately want to get into MMORPG's but I've failed to get into EQ twice, getting to level 8 and 5 respectively before giving up

My advice James is to stay clear.

Dont get me wrong...Ive played EQ and AO and regardless of the game the genre is amazing and highly addictive.

And thats the problem they suuuuck the life clean out of you. One day you wake up and a year has gone and as someone else said in this thread when you leave a game you get that feeling that youve left a part of you behind

Main problem with ALL the MMORPHs are that you get to a certain point in the game and it just becomes an addiction to level. Until the content of the games improve then this will never change, regardless of the game.

Wijj - lvl 41.5 Skald
Wijetta - lvl12 Healer
Wijosthenes - lvl 13 Shadowblade

And I've also lvl'd a guildmate's buffbot shaman called Hooz from 13 to 37 using him on my 2nd PC and soloing with Wijj, my skallie

Gonna make a serious effort to get Wijj to 50 in the next few weeks.

In theory DAoC has more than that - in that you can run around in a fps-hellhole killing the enemy (they're fixing the fps problems with more than 30 people on screen at once sometime next year at least)

Once you hit about level 20 you can play 'king of the keep' in the battlegrounds, or at level 40+ you can get some groups together and go hunting in the frontier, take some keeps, defend them etc.

It can be terribly tedious too - on a bad night it can be bad, but on a good night RvR (as it's called - realm versus realm) can be good fun. Cross progressquest with tribes I guess (more progessquest than tribes though.... can't HoF in DAoC - no collision detection)
