Damsel in Distress (EVENT inside!)

Now there I was, killing Pygmy Goblins in Lyonesse, when suddenly our allied Griffon Knights requested assistance to rescue an abducted Lady. To the Yarleys I ran without hesitation, and rode to Snowdonia as fast as I could. It seemed that the Griffons had met a young girl in Cornwall, who seemed a bit lost and asked them for directions, when suddenly a bunch of arawnite worshippers appeared and ambushed the Knights. In the chaos, one of the attackers escaped with the girl and made way to Snowdonia, thanks to some magic trick.

But they should have known better than to mess with the Knights of Albion Alliance, for both the Templars and Griffons, sporting their banners of red and green, rushed to Snowdonia Keep and charged the camp of the foul robbers. I myself appeared a bit late, but here is what I saw:

I left Snowdonia Keep and went straigt north down the cliff, where the cries of battle could already be heard. Surrounded by some foul arawnites were the Templars and Griffons, protecting a lone girl named Elleoa. But there was another women down there, whose name was Ewlena (or something...). It seemed to be the same women that had lain a curse on the marriage of Gimly and Shileag from the Griffon Knights. That witch mumbled some sentences I could not make any sense of, but eventually left the girl in our care, vanishing in a blur of magic.

So the Lady was safe, and after a sip out of my flask of whiskey she was able to walk again. We escorted her to her hometown Humberton, where her father already awaited her return. The old man seemed very devastated and told us of a letter he had received prior to the abduction of the girl. This letter said that the blood of young maidens would be spilled, and implied evil things for the future. But for now, the day was safe.

------

OOC: Yay! We had an event! And it was bloody cool, definetly worth the horse ride from Lyonesse. And no, I did not try to lay the girl. I was just being a gentleman.
I bet an asterite sabre that there wil be more of this to come in the future.

And this is the story how it was told to other adventurers who were too late to witness the event (boldly taken from the Griffon Knights page):

The Story of Elleoa.
Told by Turel
Additional narative by Gondo

Turel says, "A group of Griffon Knights were preparing to hunt the Giants of Dartmoor... we were gathered at the Yarely's farm"

Turel says, "A young lady approached us, asking for information aobut the surrounding lands"

<The lady was the young Elleoa, Daughter of Alhrick Duglas of Humberton>

Turel says, "We talked for some length, then out of the blue, a group of Arawnites appeared and attempted to abduct them"

Coren says, "Arawnites in Cornwall... interesting.."

Turel says, "Their leader made his cohorts attack us, and then made off with the girl"

Turel says, "We slew the foul Arawnites, and Gronau, a fellow Griffon, was teleported to Snowdonia"

Turel says, "He ended up in an Arawn Camp, just north of Snowdonia Keep"

Coren says, "Did he survive?"

Turel says, "Aye, he was teleported back soon after"

Turel says, "When we and the Knights Templar arrived there, we would the place to be teeming with worshipers of the God Arawn"

Turel says, "We treid to reason with them, but were forced into combat"

Derric says, "It's hard to reason with arawnites.."
Galewyr says, "without a sword"

Turel says, "They summoned an evil being, with the appreance of an etheral Cyclops"

Gronau says, "an arawnite wraith"

Turel says, "We fought bravely, and in the end prevailed against the overwelming forces"

<Turel laughs >

Turel says, "That is the truth!"

<Derric smiles >
Coren says, "Well done"
<Coren grins >

Turel says, "Then, as we were recovering from combat, and evil Witch appreaed"

Gondo says, "Ewlena"
Turel says, "Aye, Ewlena"

Turel says, "We had encountered her once before at a wedding between our two of our Guild memebers..."

Derric says, "She appeared at the wedding?"

<3 days prior at the wedding of Gimly and Shileag whitecloud Ewlena had first appeared, and cursed the happy couple>

Turel says, "Anyway... She then proceded to speak about the girl..."

Turel says, "I forget exaclty what she said, but it seemed to be of ill obem"

Turel says, "Omen i mean <laughs>"

Turel says, "Before we had a chance to end her evil forever, she teleported away, leaving us with a very confused girl"

Derric says, "So we have a very alive evil witch running around?"

Turel says, "We then proceded back to Snowdonia Keep, and back on horse to Humberton, where we stand now"

Turel says, "Aye, that is the jist of it... "

Derric says, "Well that is an interesting story my friend.Thank you for sharing it"

Turel says, "It was my pleasure friends"

Turel bows to Derric.
Olev claps at Turel!
Turel bows.
Twofang claps at Turel!

By the way, she appeared first as "Ewalena of the Pact", and now as "Ewlena of the Pact" :)

Shame Alhrick Duglas didn't want Bofgrey and me to escort him to the lands surrounding Camelot after telling us he never really left Humberton. I'm sure a weapon merchant would love the sight of his former customers slaying loads and loads of Pygmies. ;)

Hmm, this could get pretty fun if these begin to happen more often!

It was lots of fun and I really enjoyed it. Many thanks to the Griffons who not only told us about it, but also let us come along and help out. It certainly was worth the horseride to Snowdonia, even though the cyclops and the other big scary monster (Wrath of Arawn) were quite something, as were the Arawnites that stormed us. Being hit by that named one quite took my breath away :)

Oh, and well done Hendrick for acquiring a girlfriend ;-p

It certainly livened up my evening I can tell you, beats slaughtering Goblins by a long way.
I especially liked the twist where I was transported insantly to the Arawnite camp in Snowdonia by Wealwyn the Snake, who then told me "You have seen, you have learned".
A nice cryptic clue that we correctly interpreted and the start of an epic adventure for both Guilds.

Im sure we haven't heard the last of Wealwyn and his cohorts :D

Hooray! finally we have something over our american cousins!
I often did think that this game has very little to offer the person who wishes to develop different sides to their char apart from its level and how many mid/hib skulls they have stacked on their mantle piece. But its nice to see that GoA have addressed this.

One thing i do hope is that everyone has the opportunity to parcipitate in this events, obviously the rp guilds are the first choice, but im sure the rest of us wouldnt mind some small distraction from the daily xp grind ;)
