It's not necessarily to show off, it can be so people know who/what they are talking to/about.

By not listing your chars you get accused of being afraid to reveal your identity

Was playing mates Infiltrator yesterday morning when mids started on Eras. Raced there on horse and found most of a fg on Ram, couple running around checking for inc. Managed to sneak around stealth node, used siegewrecker and entered the keep. As I moved up to oil I got loads of damage messages showing stuff like:

You hit War Ram for ......
You hit xxxxxx for 206756 -15678
you hit xxxxxx for 198767 -12345

The really bizarre bit was that a FGA turned up and killed the mids. I started racking in the RP's was getting over 2k for some of them, well over 10k in total. Unfortunately I LD straight after so no screenie
