Daikatana is NOT the greatest game!

Dammit! I spent 4 days downloading the 104MB demo of Daikatana on my 56K modem, only to find that it's Unreal.

I've got Unreal and frankly, I'm already bored with it.

Graphics, sound and gameplay are exactly the same. Am I mising something here? Should I have read the small print?

Being published by Eidos and not Digital Extremes I was expecting a new ground-breaking game, not a mod. The next generation of FPS. My boney arse.

Dammit. I'm not happy.

I've been had, haven't I? Someone on another thread said 'Daikatana is the best game ever' so I thought I'd wander over and have a look. It looked pretty good.

Thing is, reading that post again I think it was sarcasm.

Shit.

How can a game which has apparently been in development for so long finally be released and turn out to be EXACTLY the same as a game that already exists and has been out for three years?

God, didn't u read the reviews in mags Someguy? It was total crap! I played the demo on a demo disk (why the hell did you download the demo from the net with a 56K )and was appaled by it. I uninstalled it after two minutes of gameplay. In fact, I formatted my hard disk to make sure not a trace of that abysmal program is on it!

Ok, that last bit is a lie........

No, fair play. I ran it for about 15 seconds before uninstalling it and deleting the dowload file from my hard drive. I'd rather have 200MB of free space than that bucket of runny turds.

Half-Life does actually suck imo. But thats cos I got bored shitless with it after about 10 minutes. Derivative sci-fi plot, not enough monsters to kill and C64 graphics ruined it for me.

Should have played it with h3d specs, totally different angle on the game. Imho 3 years ago the gfx wern't all that bad, not up to the standard of c64, or speccy 48 agreed, but still not bad.

yup, Half Life single player had an effect on me that has not been matched by any game since.

There are one or two naff bits in it, but these are inconsequential.
