Ok I started getting problems about 3 months ago, I would get an error when starting up games, usually some D3D error & being informed to to re-boot & if the error continued to try re-installing directx !!

I was usually able to rectify this by unistalling my gfx card drivers & reinstalling them, this became a pain so I decided to upgrade my X800 to a 7800GS, but still the blooming problem persists..how on earth do I unistall directX 9c as the error prompts me too?

In theory you cant actually unistal direct anymore as it is an intergated part of the os now - Used to be able to remove earlier versions using dxbuster. As far as I know the buster guys havnt updated this for years but ill have a check and see.
If you cant get it out you can try reinstalling (dosn't normally work) sadly after that your looking at a sys rebuild :(

Non ps2 keyboards can do that. Plug it in the PS2 socket using a USB->PS2 adapter if you have one or use an old keyboard.

And tbh you are barking up the wrong tree by trying to remove directX, its probably a driver problem caused by bits of ATI drivers left behind, and although a clean reinstall of windows might be the safest thing, you could try looking for driver removal tools. Remove all ATI/Nvidia related drivers before reinstalling the nvidia forceware drivers and make sure your mobo drivers are up to date as well.

I have the most up to date directx 9.0c the error I'm getting is "render creation failed"
The only way I can play is unistalling my gfx drivers, restarting, installing them again & the game runs.
I had this problem with my previous gfx card so sold it to a mate, for whom it works perfectly & bought a new one, but still the problem persists so its not my gfx card that has the problem

You could always run dxdiag and see if dx is fubar m8 run the test direct 3d test if the cubes spin at a stupidly fast rate dx is defo fubar.

ever thought it might be the slot on the mobo?
also some of the new cards are quite heavy and can become dislodged slightly causeing problems worth a look if you have all ready do so.

if not try and get hold of some bench testing software for d3d and let it run its test's

Reading this again, its even more obvious that its a graphics card driver problem... So many clues like...

a). DX says no (do some searches round here ive written pages on why DX says 'render creation failed').

b). Your error comes and goes with graphic card driver changes.

c). Youve changed your gfx card.

d). 9/10 games problems are down to gfx card drivers.

I wouldnt 100% rule out AGP slot failure, badly installed card, or other motherboard problem, but I doubt you would get a software error message and you would probably have problems booting or even starting windows.

You can try running DX diagnostic tests, but if 'render creation failed' appears in DAOC it will probably stop any DX application from starting as well.

Dxdiag should work as that doesnt start up any crazy D3D modes untill you start testing things, run that and do the direct draw and direct 3d tests. If you still dont trust your direct x version check the direct x page to see if you have all the proper files.
