Hmmm.... how much pay do you get then?

I know the factory i work at they got a weekend shift, working 2 x 12 hours getting full pay, but just having 5 days off instead of 2, working 24 hours instead of 37.
Would have applied for that job, but alas, at the time I applied, my dad was still the boss of that shift and rule is you can't work in an area where a relative would be your boss.

Tris :( IT WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU !! !

We will have to make a stand in tris- out of cardboard boxes and washing up liquid bottles!

And we could make it so that it has spagetti for hair and egg for the eyes and bacon for the mouth :D:D:D and we could make it so it posts tris-like materiel and signs it "stand in tris- robot thing with bacon for a mouth" at the bottom so everyone knows :D

Somebody get me four crayons and some paper to make blueprints stat!

On a slightly more serious note; hope it all goes well for ya tris, enjoy those 4 days off! :)

i only get 5.70 an hour because im through an agency, the perm staff get 6.70 the fuckers.
i work 2x12 hour day shift (7am>7pm) then i get 24 hours off and work 2x12 night shift (7pm>7am) and then have 4 days off.

suits me, i prefer this already to 9-5 which ive done for months previously.

6.7???? Pounds???? Thats insane.......

But that means 4 days work (total) and 6 days off (total), not too shabby... 60% time off...

Currently working a nightshift myself, 11-7 night beats 9-5 day anytime. I come home, walk the dog, go to bed and is up again by 2 or 3pm, lots of time to enjoy the entire day before going to work, and I am not exhausted during my free time as I work after, not before, my time off :)

Still wouldn't mind the weekend shift at the factory I work at, it gives some nice time off that one can use to focus on other aspects of life.

EDIT3: Bah, no reason to show off with the job :( Continue congrats to Tris- :D

insane? do you mean its a shite wage?

i only get £5.70. you dont need any skill at all really so that way its probably better. at mc donalds id only get 4.45 for example and that doesnt need any skill either.

another good thing is traveling time is only 40 mins per day and i only need to do that 4 times a week instead of the usual 5 for most shifts.

11>7 night, ill of been off my first break for an hour by the time you start ;)

Guess pay standard is just different in the UK than in Denmark then.

I work at a factory during night shift, 7-8min drive away, about 15 minuts total travel by car.

Job requires: You are 18 or above.
that is all.

No training... no education..

Within 4 weeks of being hired, you have to attend a 3 hour training program where they make sure you understand how to produce quality.

Start Pay: 9.8
My Pay: 11.2
Bonus for working Night: 3.5
Total Pay pr. Hour: 14.75
Now, if I work overtime, then I get 50% for 2 first hours and then 100%, so when I show up a friday to saturday night or on a saturday, I get upto 11.2 x 2 + 3.5 = 25.9 pr. hour of work

I mean, the start pay on this job is the MINIMUM pay here.... paying someone 6.7 would be illegal if that person is 18+ here.

I do have to pay 2% first for the market, then 40% regular tax through, except on the 4000(more or less) first earned each year (usually spread to about 320 each month tax free, then rest is tax'ed)

On a normal month (4 weeks) without working overtime I make 1300, more or less, after taxes.

But then again, that is probarly countered by the fact that except on Cigs and such, we have generally more expensive stores

...£25 per hour....that's insane!

But only when doing overtime work beyond 2 hours on a single day. And if I stay on a normal day (can't anymore, but used to be able to) then the first 2 hours is not overtime, but Flex.

So, if you have to get £25 for an hour on a regular day, you have to stay 7 hours, then 2 Flex, then 2 at 50% and then after 11 hours of work, you get the good wage.
And then max 2 hours of the good pay, as you are not allowed to work more than 13 hours in a row

But if I come in on a Saturday, it counts as direct to overtime, so no 7 regular hours or 2 flex hours, so just have to get past 2 hours at 50%, and you are in the golden wage.

Hmm, all of this does, however, put a new perspective on some of the stuff that I have had in mind about my future...

Want to see the world, not just exotic places, but also places like the UK, and not just on a short week or 2 trip, but for like half a year or more at various places, and had been looking on jobs I could go and take.

Remember being put off by what I thought was extremely bad pay, have to re-review that, perhaps it wasn't bad in UK standards...
