Well, what i can see from this thread('cause i don't own a british tv network)...swearing campaign? Are they f*cking serious? :eek7:

Everything goes to f*ckville and back in a cunniculus train these days. And not in a good way!

No smoking. (Yeah yeah...shut the f*ck up..)
No meat.(you can find a salad easier then a steak)
No swearing.

What next? No sex? No wait...damnit...i've hit the perfect quadfecta with my wankathon :( Only one more lifeban and the 5 edged star of the devil is complete.

As someone who never was a big swearer or noticed it as a major problem at school back when i went you'd think i'd be against it. On the contrary however I do think that by completely taking away a Teenagers way to express themselves in what is essentially a stressful environment your only asking for them to let out steam in other ways, be it violence, drugs, sex or whatever.

Theres an obvious difference in the time and the place for abusive language and what needs to be taught is how and where to use the correct language and giving respect to other people. If your in polite company use polite words but if you need to let off steam and your not going to hurt anyones feelings swearing is a great way to get it off your chest.

Typical conservative idiots thinking a blanket approach is the best option.

I thought they interviewed a bunch of mindless idiots for the most part, what particularly vexed me sorely was the kid trying to link swearing with poverty and hunger. Then stated that Swearing is like poetry, I highly disagree. Swearing is a form of expression granted, but if you taught the children how to use our language to it's fullest then they would not need to swear.

Like i've always said, cussing is a powerform.

You don't need to say filth flarn flarn all the time, but saying f*ck every now and then makes the words seem more important and gets more attention too.

If a well spoken guy, giving a lecture in a high school doesn't get some kid to shut up by saying "Could you please concentrate on the matter?" then maybe a "Shut the f*ck up and listen!" works.

Finnish people actually curse quite a bit, it's used just a normal medium, ofcourse we got our "fancypants" too, but nobody minds the cursing.

I guess it's dependant on the cultural background too. We're a bit more barbaric compared to the UK.

i personally never seen why swearing is bad. for some reason in the past people have given them a bad meaning.

i dont see shit bad like i dont think the word "the" is bad.
