Customising CS..

I've never really thought anbout this one, but is it "safe" to modify names in CS?

Like, Instead of having "Leet Krew" you could change it to "Alqieda (sp)"...

If it IS safe, how could you do it?

Dunno about the names, but ive got some nice custom guns skins that make cs look better. I even have custom shells It just helps to make it look a bit nicer

hmm think you should be careful m8, if you play in leagues at all you are not allowed to change skins i.e weapons and players.

so trying to change the names would be interfering, think you on dodgy ground there m8?

but if you not play in leagues etc, alot of peeps change weapon skins and player skins.

but i would advise against messing about as you may find you could be banned when going on servers, as they may feel it some sort of cheat

Hmm, well i dont play in any Clans, atm, so it woukdnt bother me about League Rules

if u go to ur cstrike directory and open up the titles.txt file

in there go down untill u find

In TFC certain things are ok but then others are ruled out of leagues.

Change the names all you want its far from cheating but doesnt really serve much of a benficial purpose at all.

As for throds comment on weapon skins, I'm all for changing v_ models. Just not w_ or p_, they should be locked out, as they are easily moddable to give advantages

You can in CS, as my CT names have changed after installing the CS|RU pack.

World and player view models could be a sticking subject as extra long weapons could be employed (as they have been in the past) to spot someone hiding behind a box. For the most part though I think they're good fun and dont give any tactical advantage.

BTW, my knife is currently an electric guitar which is used in a smashing-up-amplifiers kind of way. Don't have any decent sounds for it though :/

Ive pretty much changed all of my skins and models, its given the game a fresh look, almost like new. So long as I change back to defaul for matches, I dont see a problem. Latest one Ive found is a replacement WAD for Dust, makes it and Dust2 look like cobble.

i changed mine before, quite amusing and i dont consider it a cheat of any form.

I used the new textures for dust/dust2 for a month prior to the next version, when the textures were due to be added into that version, but they didnt do that in the end so I got rid of them.

Custom wads for maps, are acceptable enough, within reason, but when you start changing a dark map into a light map, or a ridiculously simple coloured map, then you get into the realm of advantages
