Well - currently they say those settings are beta only:

Warhammer Forums - View Single Post - Default guild privacy settings
Before release, the default privacy options will change.

Still think people need to think twice when installing clients like this or allow them in guild.
And I wonder if it is indeed beta only. Something as this wants to mine the most information possible, to get the most usage possible.
If "privacy" (to use that) is any way compromised, I do think it should be taken up with Mythic.

Yes, it is nice to be able to look up items and what not in a DB and I used Thottbot etc when I was in WoW, but if not careful, everything will be mined and collected.

so true :(

How can I have "guild gay love fest 7pm Tuesday" on the events calendar if it's being published to wardb.com? Everyone on the server would show up and I don't think my arse could take that.

Food for thought: Regarding artistic creations and ownership. If I write a poem on the guild calendar and a friend uses the curse client to copy it to display on the web, can I sue curse for copyright infringement? I can probably not claim "loss of profit" since I am probably not allowed to make an income from the WAR-client. Should I sue my guildmate? Is it mine or Mythics copyright that is infringed? Do I automatically give ownership of every artistic product created inside WAR to Mythic, or would that be like giving the ownership of a painting to the people that made the canvas and the colours?

This is of course mostly relevant in a RP-environment. Especially when considering strange legal things like fanfiction.

I don't suppose anyone that's more juridically competent could shed some light?

Your would own the IP (intellectual property) of the poem(unless you have a copyright for the material you have to pay to get these but the next stage is the same) and there for can take litigation after using a cease and desist order

but it would lightly be removed on request, at the end of the day theirs a difference about data and IP or even copyright (note copyleft not included) and they are handled quite differently

Edit:
note:-the above is from case's that i have worked on as digital forensic's expert, while i'm not a lawyer i have a lot todo with them and if people want me to get some legal standing on it i can as i'm back in office tomorrow
