Wrong section?

Anyways...I'm just curious to hear people's opinion on what (if any) Alb group setups can work in RvR after TOA and moving into NF. I think that the low utility of individual Alb classes is making itself MORE apparent after TOA (from my limited RvR experience, that is).

Do people think that Alb caster groups of 2xCleric,2xBG,2xDebuff,2xDamage would be workable, or would there not be enough damage output/defence/whatever?

I was thinking about maybe something like this;

2xCleric
BG Paladin
BG Tank (prolly Merc)
Mind Sorc (for CC + pet for interrupt)
Body Sorc (secondary CC + damage + debuff + pet)
Spirit/Matter Cabby (NS + debuffs + damage + pet)
Theurg (BT + de-Haste + damage + CC + pets)

Theurg probably specced 46 Air 28 Earth (or something like) and Cabba probably 46 Spirit 28 Matter for best Body debuff and 45% NS plus AOE dot.

Comments?

Our most common setup, but sometimes a Banelord merc not a BM, and always a spirit cabby not matter

Aye...sorry Eggy, I meant a Spirit Cabby with spare points in Matter (46/28). It's too early!!

We seem to be running remarkably close setups as you say there, except we dont have any Body Sorcs.

Usually we go like this, however KoP doesnt exclude lower ML members from guild rvr, but I'd say our optimum grp would look sorta like this :

2 Clerics (We are experimenting with one as Warlord)
1 Mind Sorc
1 Spirit Cabby
1 BG Pally
1 BG Merc
1 Icewizard (PBaoe 4 teh support protection :D)
1 Theurgist

Sometimes we leave out the Theurg and throw in some other caster, doesnt really matter to us :)

Setup looks nice, but surely one of the big advantages of having a Spirit cabby is the Body Debuff? Also, if you ARE going to run an Ice Wizz, then the Body Sorc 50% cold debuff would be nice too :)

Maybe this;

Cleric x 2
BG Paladin
BG Reaver/Merc
Mind Sorc
Body Sorc
Ice Wizz x 2 (givf MOC!!)

That gives 2 lots of 50% debuffed MOC'ed PBAOE damage WITH bodyguard, 2 CC casters with decent damage output and some healing, plus 2xpets for interrupting. If the Sorcs are Convoker they can use those little intercepting pets (Brittle Guards) as well...

We don't exclude anyone so its pretty rare for us to run with that set-up, quite often we don't have the ice wizzie at all but rather a 2nd Cabby which I think makes the group much stronger. We're also known not to have a Pally and we often run with a necro..those Cabby/Sorc/Theurg assist teams with constant power are great.

Mind Sorcs do more than acceptable damage after a body debuff using baseline lifetap. I cap at 599 atm as a 44 Mind Sorc and with debuff get over 500 pretty consistently. We also like to run Wind Theurg with spirit debuff but it's same old problem Alb groups always gotta sacrifice something :(

Actually Jarahl isn't quite correct we do have 2 or 3 body Sorcs what he means is our most active Sorc is a mind sorc (that's me)

And we have no 'usual' group since we aren't a RvR dedicated guild, the group is made up of whoever answers on /gu :) This can be highlighted most by the fact that we have the highest RRing Necromancer in Europe, fotm groups for the win :)

In the group setups listed above the usual outcome is that the albs get zephyred all over the battle field :)

Well apprently they so in-active that I actually thought we didnt have any ^^

However what Javai and Talifer said is true, we just throw some peeps together usually.. Only thing that are absolutely certain is 1 cleric and 1 mind sorc :) Others are just who answers on /gu

I rather have a Friar then a pally with BG for resists tbh
and the reaver can bring some pots...

Imo one BG is enough whether it be a friar or a pally ... the other spot should be a Banelord Merc/Reaver for ZoU etc. Reaver has better interrupts and does a lot of dmg but at the moment I would prefer a det tank with pf and dual wield over a reaver .. NF will probably change that though.

Best grp I've played with recently was:

2 clerics
1 mind sorc
1 fire wizzy
1 BG paladin
1 BG friar
1 BL merc
1 SJ mincer

but that more around having good players in the slots than going for the best setup; for setup I'd prolly go:

2 clerics (rej+ehn for heals and resists)
1 mind sorc (mez and ae interrupt spam)
1 fire wizzy (bolt range damage esp with +10% range)
1 BG paladin (bg+slam/grapplebot)
1 BG friar ( bg+heat resists)
1 theurg (assist nuke, petspam and BT)
1 BL merc (offensive annoyer- keep enemy occupied and soaks up damage as well as laying down ZoU and tendrils if needed)

All caster grps are more pure but that single merc is important to keep the other grp on their toes - it also distracts all the F8 merchants as a dummy run :m00:

Anyway-what I can see ToA bringing is that hybrid groups can have a place in RvR these days

tank grps still work, its all about targetting and having enough banelords (at least 2)

the only difference is now u need range caster dmg+bg in grp too, that can come from fire wiz or spirit cabby or air theurg. fire wiz does it best due to: 3xbolts a powerful dd and a powerful ae-dd (EoY rez anyone? :kissit: )

all must be ToA'd up the whazzoo and rr5+ for max effectiveness ofc

base icenuke hits for 400-500 after 30% debuff with no/low spellpierce. 2 bgers & 1 banelord is enough with a good theurg.

too bad we've played shit with this setup due to rr1 no toa etc ;(

Molten Lava in Earth line (Wizard) Aoe snare lvl 47 also works like a charm against hib/mid groups.

it has : 300-400 dmg
its aoe and it interrupts
it slows enemies down and those pesky hib pets (so the hib pets are no problem anymore)

so if hib/mid casters meet at earth wizzie group (i know they are non existant atm) you would make dmg, interupt the casters slow down the enemies pets (if not kill them before they reach you) and they will ofc try to spread out to avoid the dmg (but its hard to move when snared ;) )

i really urge alb groups to try to have a earth wizzie in a group and just spam that aoe snare when meeting enemy groups (you should go for 3 earth wizzies imo - 1200 dmg every 2 sec and enemies are snared)

2 ice wiz
ice/earth theurg
bg tank
2 clerics
mincer
sorc

Is the `template` group we try to run around with. Realy missing those heat/cold resists though.

Nothing as much fun as running in a MGhouse/lord room with SoS running, and unleashing moc PBAOE/VP while the two clerics spam spreadheal.

and the Molten Lava spell in Wizz earth line is Matter dmg, prob the resist that most dont cap (good dmg then).

and if its a problem that earth wizzies gets interrupted get a couple of sorcs inside group spamming amnesia on the groups you encounter.

The set-up I liek the most atm is (although I've only played with it one time):

4mercs (minimum 2 banelords)
1pally
1sorc
2clerix

Agree with that setup.

Cleric
Cleric
Reaver
Merc
Paly
Theurg
Sorc
Ice wizz

Best thing albion can put up atm. Sorry about caby debuff teams, but imo being GP'ed again n again n then mezzd nuked to death isnt funny, pure caster teams are little candys for hibs untill NF with GP removed. And also it lacks pbaoe to combo with grapple against tanks like savages.

Mixed grps is the way to go.

Why people going to use ice wizzies if you going to beat enemies from range?(fire wiz can instant kill a caster basically at start of fight, i found ice baseline nuke very bad compared to fire after debuffs...) and most good groups you can't pbaoe anyway, fire wiz can do insane nuke damage with toa sc+body sorc, probably 1k+ crits often since nuke cap can be around 800 with mom 3.(haven't completed my toa sc but without +11 fire i was doing 600-1k a nuke after 50% heat debuff so with toa sc be a lot better)

I think:

Cleric
Cleric
Friar/Pala/mins
Caba
Theurg
Fire wiz/Caba/Banelord merc
Body sorc
Mind sorc

also 1 advantage with earthwizzies is that i dont think there is an artifact that grants immunity against the Molten Lava spell.

i know Ceremonial bracer grants immunity against mezz/stun (some mid/hib groups allready have theirs at lvl 10 - so try go mezz those ;p ), so there is another reason to just spam molten lava (i dont think ceremonial bracer grants immunity against snare)
