Help Cubasis Vst 4.0 .. Help!

This is a tricky one:

Need help configuring input and output devices for cubasis 4.0, I know most of you are probably thinking control panel, audio settings etc but this is a little bit more complicated.

I had a medion, windows media centre laptop that run cubasis perfectly, the ASIO driver configured the input and output devices.But recently I've bought a DELL inspiron 1720 with windows vista home on it, after installation and setup cubasis tells me that the current ASIO driver is not compatible with this version of windows.

So I visited ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver to download and install the ASIO driver for vista. Cubasis picks up the driver and drops the input device into the default settings but for some reason I'm not recieving any sound from the output. Why this is I don't know I've tried searching for similar ASIO devices to no avail, reconfiguring the audio devices in the audio settings and still nada.

Anybody have any ideas?

Output device: SigmTel High Definition Audio (Speakers)

Input Device: Samson C01U (Microphone)
