My missus played the first one they released - I peered over her shoulder now and then but left her to it - just seemed like a point n click type game - nothing amazing, gfx were not anything special either, she enjoyed it - but thats about teh only game she has ever played other than Solitaire on the pc so probably not a lot to go on - would prob suggest some other type of adventure/puzzle solving game as thats all it seems to boil down to - and the magazine reviews I saw gave them around 50-60% at best out of 100%...

Sorry if that aint much help but unless I drag her to teh pc and ask her to explain it, thats all i can say about it.....and even if i did drag her onto the pc - all you would get is - "its alright cos i like the program and it has pictures of stuff like the people on the tv"

Can't comment on csi, not sure if its your thing or have already played them but broken sword 1 and 2 are both excellent games although a tad dated now and sound similar to what your looking for, also http://www.baphometsfluch25.de/cms/index.php?id=71,0,0,1,0,0 been in development for like forever though :<

Dont play many games like this so cant really suggest anything else :/

I played the first CSI game thingy, didn't find it interesting at all. Was just basic hover mouse over crime scene, click here and there and rinse and repeat. Didn't require any interlect :<

Sam and Max games I hear are really funny but haven't played them myself.
Why not buy one of those "choose you own fate" books instead and go old school !!

Page 57 If you want to try and pwn the dragon with a bent toothpick and some double sided sticky tape.

page 59 If you are actually planning to finish the book and want to run away from the dragon until you have a bazooka and 4 friends called Rambo,Arnie,Bruce and Billy Bob Woodchuck.

Adventures... hmmm....

Zork Nemesis - Old as a TRex, but definitely one of the best adventures ever.

The Longest Journey - pretty nice adventure, good story, not too hard.

Fahrenheit! - THE huge surprise of 2005 for me. If you´re into Adventures, try this. Dense storyline and atmosphere. And it´s got a NSFW scene too! Should almost be budget by now.

I stole one of Muerdes CSI games and they are good, but get on your tits as you know who did it but it make you find evidence befor you can get your copper to arrest them and there is no gun in your pack for "street justice"

Seriously though its a good game but can get abit tediuos when you have to find a single hair on a dance floor the size of Russia with your torch and magnafying glass.

Try these?

If that link doesnt work - its the fighting fantasy series - not read them myself - just had a nosey for ya and came up with that...

Just go to amazon.co.uk and search for "choose your own" in the books section - brings back over a 1000 hits - fair few of em might be along the lines you looking for hopefully :)

Are those the ones where it says

"roll a dice, if you roll even, turn to page 68, if you roll odd go to page 89"

etc?

I think the Fantasy ones are - one of the comments mentions you need 2 dice and a pencil or something - but like I said on the earlier post - if you just search "Choose your own" on amazon - brings back loads - each one has a review / comments etc - some I think are just a case of select which page next on your own - without having the added expense of purchasing dice. and a pen. and something to write on so you don't ruin the book.
