CS - I don't bind, alias or script - anyone else?

Just a thought.

I play CS a lot and have done for year and a half now but I actually don't use any binds, aliases, scripts, whatever at all. Not even to automatically change names in game.

Am I alone? Am I at a disavantage?


Anyone else like me?


As I said. Just a thought.

was in same boat till i got bored about a week ago and played with a few binds, auto call for back up kinda stuff, etc etc, did a little bit of a buy script nothing major, usally got by fine without them, but if in clan match and i need to type instructions at round start, can b pushing it to type it and buy, so thought i best do a few binds :)

i use a buy script, and have only recently started using it... oh, and it has an gren cycler with it, basically you press a key and it cycles through flashbang -> h.e. gren -> smoke gren, quite useful when you've bought more than one grenade :)

i don't use anything else, and haven't really considered doing so, i suppose having next to no knowledge about how to script, let alone in CS, i haven't bothered...

I used to use the giant script from Nextwish, but since I re-installed, I don't bother. Buy scripts are harmless, and grenade cyclers are great if you get them working.
The night-vision adjuster is great - I much prefer NV when it's turned right down.:)

so to walk forword you type "+forward" or soemthing?
and when you ant to shoot you type "+attack"? sounds kinda weird, not least because you'd have to type the negative when u want to stop, oh well, whatever suits you, i know what i'm sticking with.....


(btw, i am haveing ago at humour, i'm laughing that the averrage long time CS player is still stupid enough to say dum stuff(yes i do hate CS)).

Say what you want Alberto but my point is that I play the game as it was intended.

I can't be arsed to mess around with the config just to gain any advantage. But then I don't play in Clan matches.


Oh, I did design a new spary logo once but BW have disabled Decals so that was a waste of time.

dude, the alias system in from the QW engine is in hgere for a reason, so people could customise the game.
it hasn't been removed, it's intended to be here, and it's intended to be used.
you may see scripts as cheats, but alot of people would not consider any alias as a cheat for the simple reason it's been specifically allowed.
what you make of stuff like anti-recoil cheats for your cs ect, it makes no differance, the alias and binding system is a huge thing in the games that use it, soemthing that has changed the face of gaming, and i'm not joking....

buy scripts are pretty harmless, i just prefer to not press b43b82 etc when i can just press 4 function keys.

Other scripts i dont agree wiht, nothing wrong with night vision goggle binds.

Grenade spam scripts i have a problem with.

Rze's and Nextwishes scripts are the same thing, with a different name :) boht are really good and if u can be bothered with the communications binds they are great.

But remember when u are not in a clan match no one wants to see what u have bought spammed on the screen.

buy scripts are pretty weak, basically just a collection of "menuselect x"s, if you think that's wrong or soemthing, then you need to look at more complex scripts.

the alias system is stupidly easy, just plain text commands..
as for binds, they're the way you assign commands to a key, if ytou didn't have them, you would have to play the game throught he console typing in commands...

not sure if you were referring to my script or not, but it doesn't buy the grenade, just cycles through them once you've bought them... i hate grenade spam scripts too, if it's the same thing we're tninking of :)

in these you need to wrtie buyammo1/2 instead of just ammo1/2

You can have the same bind to buy you a terroist gun or a ct gun depending on what side you are. I.e this bind will get you a colt when ct or an AK when T

"buy; menuselect 4; menuselect 3; menuselect1; buyammo1; buyammo1; buyammo1; buyammo1; buyammo1"

I use a handful of scripts for buying (bound to function keys), grenade cycler and also for key messages (Enemy Spotted, Roger, Need assistance). Also have 1 for planting explosive.

Means that you only nede to press 1 button and you are away.

PROBLEM : youve everything bought, your away from the starting block - and I get killed first cos nobody's close enuff to back me up (and also cos Im crap)

I have NO spamming for the buy message (think that they are pants - who cares what gun you have), I do send message when planting bombs and throwing grenades.

why would you need a bind to plant explosives?

So that you can concentrate on shooting while planting? If that's how it works - then not such a bad idea.

Cant shoot when planting - cant hold the gun and arm bomb.

Script basically :

Crouches.
Sends message "Cover Me"
Plants bomb

LOL Ch3tan, i know that was a bit of a dumb question. I just thought Lazarus had got some amazing bind.... as soon as i read his reply i knew how foooolish i had been.

I was accused of being a newbie yesterday, can't quite remember what i was doing. Think i was running about trying to knife people. I failed miserably. Oh, now i remember.... hahaha but i don't think i will mention it in this thread. Lets just say i was a T on assault standing facing the ladder to the vent.


so lame, such a waste of money.... but with 16000 you don't really care. You ever got that much Lazarus? :p

Binds and scripts are handy if you are a high pinger.... nothing worse than running off on a hpb server to look round and see most of your team still in the spawn area because they are having to wait for the buy menus to come up so they can buy thier stuff.
You can't quickly type b82b43b13...,,, blah blah blah if you are an hpb. You have to go through it slowly or use the mouse

Amazingly enough, there is a bind cheat out there which gives you maximum money

It needs to have the right combination of bind keys

So listen up :

Bind "KPUPARROW" GG

then all you need to type is (in console)

GG fcukoffyabassa

WORKS every time.

Ok, a serious question this time. With your buy binds, do you still have the buy menu up after you have got your guns, items etc?

I have tried to put menuselct 0 at the end of my binds but that did nothing.

All of my binds leave the message up on screen.

Meant to have a look at it, but never got round to it.

Funnily enuff, Inigo Montoya has the same scripts and his work fine.

Strange.

I tend to stick with the same weapons so mine are setup :

F1 : Kevlar vest and helmet
F2 : Deagle + full ammo
F3 : HE + Flashbang
F4 : MP5 + Full ammo
F5 : AK47 + Full ammo
F5 : SIG552 + Full ammo
F7 : M4 + Full ammo
F8 : Aug + Full ammo
F11 : Enemy spotted message
F12 : Affimitive message

End : Cycle Gren
KP4 : Throw Gren
5 - Plant Explosive

Might do some work on the srcipts sollowing earlier post where 1 key can be bound to a weapon regardless of what side u are on.
