No doubt if you play CS you have often experienced that wtf feeling, when you die/survive/kill someone in an apparently impossible manner :)

Well this could well be to do with how things are modelled in the CS world.

This link has a very thorough evaluation of the modelling (they seem to have had a lot of spare time ;) ) of bullets and knife hits if that kind of thing interests you (or am I just incredibly sad  )

The presentation is bit unclear but it is an interesting read.

You will need the divX plugin to play the videos which you can get from this ftp site:

This is old very very old news.

I looked back to April at cs nation news before i could find an article relating to it. Anyway the leg hitbox when using p90 or steyr aug was fixed with the 1.1c server side patch, the crouching hitbox and head hitbox problems will be fixed in 1.2 hopefully. There are a few sites showing demos and gfx of this problem, just finding a link was too time consuming.

This is why we are getting so few cs-related posts here these days, no one is up to date with the news, read it at cs.net and cs nation go to the official cs forums, browse other sites, then talk about it.

Actually it only mentions the crouching/headshot hit box problem right at the end.

It is more concerned with the way in which knife slashes appear to be modelled; how bullets are modelled as they pass through objects; the fact that other peoples bullet marks appear differently to you as to them, and how you really cant trust your 'missed' bullet marks to guide your aim.

None of which i knew before, but I am obviously out of the loop :)
