CS Config help

Ok, I have set up my config file, but im not sure about a few things,
cl_updaterate - the guide said that modem users should set this anywhere between 15 and 25. I set to 18, and am getting pings of around 160 on average. Can anyone recomend a better setting, also rate, Im set at 3000 but the guide says anywhere between 2500 and 4000, wots best? Thanks

Doubt you'll get a much better ping than that, try upping your rate to 3250 then 3500.

The guides are basically just that :- guides.

You need to play with the setting to find out what are best for your system.

Its a matter of trial and error im afraid

160 is a good ping for a modem, as long as its not jumping all over the place.

I vary using BW servers I get 140 to 250 on my 56k and jolt and NGUK are around 200 average....................
