The funny thing is to see everybody hopping around like madmen once again!

And anybody who thinks that newer versions of cs introduce more random kills, is clearly deranged!

When will people stop trying to bring back 5.2, I'm saying 5.2 because its most likely to be that, as so many players all claim that 5.2 was the best CS ever. In its time it was perhaps the best, as the addiction was higher, and it was the best we had ever seen, it had evolved into something very nice in 5.2 and no one thought it could get better. People tend to forget about the bugs it had and the cheat problems that were just starting to emerge. CS 5.2 and all others have gone, they arent as good as what we have now despite the fucked bullets we may suffer now.

Please stop trying to bring back the old CS, it will never work and is just a tedious waste of time. Youll never create a sizeable community around this mod, nor will you get hosting support from most GSP's. Only the very best original games tend to get support from server providers. Clones of CS, or just remade older versions wont ;)

Also, whats the use in playing an older version, I'd rather be good at the most recent version, where there are more good players who are getting everything out of the game and pushing it to the limit.

Ah well, if you wish to waste ya time :p

I started on CS Beta 7.0, so this was before my time and therefore scary :p.

yeah lol, i know its an old game, but i started at 1.1 (i believe it was) then it jumped to 1.2 a few weeks later

Actually it was 3 years old last week.


Beta 6.5 was around late summer 2000, 7.0 and 7.1 followed over autumn/xmas with 1.0 coming 2001. Thoose were the days...well okay their were too many bugs, lots of blatant cheats and paranoia, but look its when I used to own on a regular basis. :p

CS is indeed three years old not two. Me I started at the beginning of 1.1 , as far as i can remember :)

I'm was a 6.5 noobie - ahhh those halcyon days - the excitement, the roaring addiction, the dialup modem and the £100 monthly phone bills.

/me wipes a tear away then pats cable modem and CSv1.5

I was playing Q2 in them days, but i surely do remember £100/month phone bills, and more :(
I also remember getting rid of my winmodem and getting a proper usrobotics one, ahh i gained 100 ping! Down from 300 to 180-200.

B4.2, on a dialup, on a laptop, in software mode.......ahhh the good old days :)
