i must say the new crysis engine really does do outdoor environments superbly, many in the games development industry are looking at this as the benchmark now. (weeps silently into his design notes)

Also take a look at the havoc 5 physics demo, 100k objects colliding in realtime. The demo i saw had leaves, water droplets and bricks all reacting to each other.

if its gonna be as good as it looks (+what is written about the way it works) im gonna go banans n lock myself indoor the first week! that multiplayer part looks very interesting, altough the way some battles can take up to 10 hours(irl time) as i saw it described might be a bit overkill unfortunately

Well EA are the publishers But Crytek are the developers. Hopefully they wont do faggy shit like the did with BF2142.

it will be backwards compatible, it will be a long time before games come out on dx10 only formats, the revenue they will lose atm is just too much at the moment

definitely will be as dx9 doesnt support pixel shader 4 among other things so they will be off by default when the game is launched
