Ordered up a new 256mb stick of memory yesterday (online) at 13:53 from www.crucial.com

Arrived this morning at 08:30

heh, at least its not "vital important I need those components for my machine so I can donate the spares for our server which fell over on saturday"

crucial i've never had problems with delivery wise, and im in Northern ireland.. always got next-day delivery from them when buying any ram :)

just wish other companys would take the lead and do the same :(

This post made me think of my experience at pc world this morning.
Basically I took a copy of Medal Of Honour back cos it appeared to be German, even though the speech etc was all English the configuration bit came up in German, also the UK patches wouldnt install, saying it wasnt a UK version, but the German patch worked fine.
Anyway, I took it back to PCWorld in Crawley, whereupon the bloke there totally disbelieved me, and insisted on loading the game onto a pc for him to see. This took about 15 minutes.
Whilst loading he told me how he had been in computers for 20 years (he was about 23 or 24 i'd guess) and how it was probably either the patch I had downloaded or that my pc was set up in German somewhere. He also told that he had a 1.2 (ish) p4 computer, that was faster than the 2.8 gig pc's he was selling here. Why? Because it was configured spot on apparently. When i asked him what benchmark scores he'd got he said he "didnt believe in benchmarks, if something is going faster you can see it, right? "
Anyway, the game loaded in the end, we went into the configure bit and hey presto , it came up in german. "Ohh " says i very loudly "your computer is a german one too!"
With which he didnt say another word, simply went to the counter and gave me my money back.
Point being, he could have done that in the first place, and saved me being 20 minutes late for work.
Oh and if you happen to be reading this pal, dont bullshit a bullshitter, ok? ;)

No still american, though Ive never seen a UK version so cant comment to much. Apparently though it was meant to have Nazi insignia etc ? In the game I mean. This one didnt.
More importantly from my perspective I would never know what to patch it to, also if I bought an expansion would it go together? Etc etc.

Unfortunately I didnt get another game, so ive got to go find one somewhere else m8.
O well once I have I will certainly give you a shout :) I played briefly online the day before yesterday, and within 5 minutes Mider and Finche were on the server with me :)

Best service I ever had from Crucial was ordering around 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon, and having my RAM in my hands at 9am Monday.

Throdgrain, I had the same problem with a bunch of PC's I was using to "demo stuff". In the end our boss called EA and they confirmed that a large batch of UK cd's have the German exe on them.

Based on this recomendation, I ordered a 512mb stick at lunchtime.

Lovely feature on their webbeh that lets you select your motherboard and it lists compatible memory sticks, as well as any support notes relevant to you. Nice touch.

Aha ! Now thats an interesting piece of imformation cheers :) As im bereft of a MoH game atm I wonder if there is a place I can get one thats definately UK .Any Ideas m8 ?

Ordered the LotR collector's DVD box set on 05/11. Money was taken from my card on the 12/11, wasn't dispatched until the 15/11 and the thing didn't arrive until the 19/11.

Heh, actually, the 4 copies I got all came from GAME and all had the wrong bloody exe. That was a month ago or so.
They mighta sorted it by now, but I dont know for sure. The good thing about GAME is their "10 day no quibble money back guarantee" and they take it very seriously indeed.
Either that or take a risk and buy it from play.com and hope you dont have to send it back (to Jersey).

Yus, and it's now extended until Jan 12th, so you can return anything you buy from them up to that date for a refund/exchange.

Hmm bollocks I think I'll leave it for awhile then Ted. EA games are like, so wierd aren't they ? I have got/ had two, MoH and BF1942. One is german and the other is like some sort of beta . Cha....
