Credit Card + Freezer = funneh

Just got a phone call from my mum saying that she's put my dad's credit card in the freezer so he won't use it anymore. Am I right in saying that this will knacker the card as much as cutting it in half would?

Put it on a powerful magnet - that should do the job nicely.

Your forgetting that he could just order a new card (same account), for free, next day delivery.

He's agreed to this. It's just that my Mum saw on the TV that a good thing to do with a crdit card you don't want to use is put it in the freezer. Not sure on the theory.

You're meant to freeze it in a big pot of water so you end up with a credit card inside a block of ice. It's kinda hard to be impulsive when you have to wait a few hours for it to melt.

A customer the other day handed me her credit card and it had the corner chewed off. Bite marks and all.

Some people's credit cards are in awful condition, I loathe to touch some of them :\
