£400 for three months, is that even feasable? I know there has been a price hike but thats just taking the piss, British Gas assholes, will probably have to re-mortage my house soon just so I can heat the fracking thing .. grr, sorry had to get that off my chest!

Whats everyone elses gas bills? Because £130 a month makes me think that the neighbours have tapped into my gas line!

Sadly it is. I nearly had a heart attack when I got my (similar) bill.

How ironic, as I was reading this post Tesco emailed me asking if i'm paying to much for my gas and electric

try them or http://www.uswitch.com/

They came up with a supplier around £300 cheaper than British Gassoles :wanker:

Two bed semi, heating has been on for ~5-6 hours a day, electric shower and cooker, something really doesnt add up.

british gas give you lots of extra benefits though. free maintenence on all equipment etc and 24/7 callout. If you dont care or youv got cover from something else then you probably are better off just going for absolute cheapest, bear in mind though that BG have said this i the only price hike for a few years...

No it doesn't really. Check your meter readings, if you have the old bills see if theres been a massive increase in useage. If not, check to see if your bills have been calculated correctly.

Sounds like the result of the correction when after a few estimated bills you get one based on an actual meter reading.

That said I had a similar "how fucking much" double take at a gas bill recently: fortunately for rather less than £130/month.

I had this recently, had a gas bill come through the letterbox for £180. I thought there's no way I've used that much gas (I have a gas cooker and thats it) so I checked and it was estimated, so I gave em my latest meter reading and my new bill comes to..................

£1.43. Much more like it I thought.

Don't mean to sound flush, but I haven't got a fucking clue what my gas bill is. I didn't even look at it.

Mwuahahha. Just got my gas bill.

£208.96

:D

I'd say the key is having a good digital timed room thermostat, like this one:

Cost me about £25 a few years back, and is worth its weight in gold tbh.
