Upgraded my comp with new processor and RAM and now my computer crashes to desktop with no error message or anything what might reveal why it do it.

Tryed to reinstall Directx, new 3dcard drivers, mainboard drivers, soundcard drivers and reinstall Daoc,no help this far but anyone run to similiar problem? Veery annoying atm,oh and it only seems to crash when on high populated areas but processor certainly aint overheating since it's static 60-62c

Comp spec atm is

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
2x 526 DRR 400 mhz ram
MSI K8TNeo
Radeon 7200 (9500 fan broke down sooo :( )
And running with Window's XP

Whoever finds a way how to fix this get's credit for being my idol :D

Somebody, anybody, pls help us

Well I'm now really pissed about this problem, I also blue screen occasionally with it citing the nv4_disp.dll as the problem.

I've resorted to 2 different helpdesks (GOA and company I got my comp from) and but solutions fail to work

GOA suggested removing all non essential progs from the startup but this made no difference

The comp company suggested reinstallation of OS, Drivers etc but this failed as well

My comp is as follows

Athlon 64 3200+
2 x 512mb Dual Channel 400Mhz DDR Ram
ECS755-A Mobo
FX 5200 256mb Gfx card
XP Pro (all latest and essential updates dl'd and installed).

This doesn't only happen whilst playing ToA so I know that the solution lies elsewhere

I've had problems with TOA and other things crashing at random.

After much fiddling with drivers, graphics card, cooling and reinstalling windows I ran memtest from www.memtest86.com and after an hour or so it started spewing out errors.

So I removed a stick of ram and ran memtest again, this time there were no errors after 12 cycles. Had a little go on TOA last night and it all seemed to be fixed

Just another thing you could try really...

nv4_disp.dll problem got it on 2 pcs playing daoc here after TOA came, no clue why, tried tons of stuff and seemed it stoped after I went back to silly old driver.

Which version of drivers did you resort back to as I'd like to try them to see if that makes any difference to me?

If it helps any:

My wife has been having this problem with her PC... It's not just DAoC/ToA, but also NeverWinter Nights and various 1st-Person Shooters. No error, no oddness, the game vanishes and dumps her to desktop. Some days she can be playing fine without any hassle at all, and other days (like this morning!) she tried to log in eight or nine times but couldn't stay around for more than twenty seconds...

Soooo, I popped out her RAM and swapped it (with the kids computer RAM!) and it is fine and dandy now - or at least, it seems to be.

If you've access to other RAM, even just to test it, it's worth a shot (and make sure you use the right sort!!) and if it's NOT drivers, then it is prolly the memory!

Good Luck! :D
