crash after leaving avalon anyone?

Hi all

Got a strange problem with SI atm. Whenever I`m leaving Avalon City, there´s a 50% chance that my computer crashes. It´s just freezing, I got like 1 frame every 10-15 seconds and finally, the connection is collapsing. Sometimes I even got a gfx bug to go with the freeze. Anyone else got this problems?
My PC config is P4 2,4, GF4Ti, 512MB DDR333, all latest drivers installed and up-to-date.

Any idea?

it crashes while zoning? or after you zoned?

It´s a brand new hd, so defrag shouldn´t be it.

And the crash happens *after* zoning, I`m already outside when it´s going into 0.01fps mode and then crashes.

i got the same problem but always with the gfx bug, you can still quit to char selection and log back in all will be fine again.

I noticed the latancy is red when this happens.

looks to me like a nasty bug in the game code

running w2k, dx9.1, gf4 ti(latest drivers)

atm i am blaiming the engine and dx9

gfx and "lag" issues occuring together must be a bug. check customer support

I´m running win2k sp3, DirectX9, GF4 too, so maybe it´s a win2k specific problem. So far, I haven´t found a way to reliaby reproduce the bug. As I said, ít happens 50% of the time. And yes, my lag-o-meter also shows me the red squares of death.
Haven´t tried to get back into char selection screen yet tho, might try this.
What´s really scaring me is the fact, that after a reboot, I can´t connect to the internet for a minute or two. My adsl software keeps telling me that ther´s no signal. That´s why I´m not so sure about the code being the problem.
Anyways, I´ll contact the tech support and keep posting the results here.
