Lo all,

I've got exim4, courier and quirrelmail all running on my server. they are all supposed to be using a central database for users, domains, aliases, adresses, etc etc. exim4 accesses this db fine, but courier cannot. I am using the authmysql module and have followed several guides and read many manuals and faqs and whatnot.

authmysql just doesnt seem to get called by the courier auth daemon when it gets asked to auth someone :(

Any thoughs, sets of config files, whatever appreciated.

OK I've narrowed it down to the following error:
Code:
Oct 23 20:20:21 stein authdaemond.mysql: authmysql: MYSQL_USERNAME not set in /etc/courier/authmysqlrc.
Oct 23 20:20:26 stein imaplogin: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:193.238.83.227]

That file does exist and does have MYSQL_USERNAME defined. And what is more, it is the default configuration...

yeah, the credentials provided are 100% correct
The authmysql module just doesnt seem to quite get its arse into gear and actually connect to the db and make te query. I tried to strace a diagnostic login, but I have little idea what any of the output means.
