Could we "excal" take out the yanks?

If someday in the future when the engine could handle 500 v 500 ppl and no server crashes :) mythic created a few international servers for server v server battles, would we "excalibur" take out the yanks, frogs or germans? if they say limited it to only rr5+ for far less buffers and fotms :)

Would be nice to see all the uber guilds on excal laying down some smack against the big yank guilds.

Wonder what the strategys would get like, would it all resort to zerging or is that our speciality.

I'm pretty sure some of the german top guilds would beat the crap out of us :)

Excal > americans imo

If you are talking battles of 500 versus 500, it is IMO a sad fact that skill tends to give way to chance, so it will be more or less a tossup (and who has the more AoE classes). On the other hand, if this would be a series of smaller skirmishes (2 FGs vs 2 FGs at the most), the elusive concept of "skill" would play a much greater role, and perhaps Excalibur would excel. ;)

germans and the french make ggs based on the idea of owning zergs, of which there should be manymanymany on their servers.
we make ggs based on the idea of owning fgs, of which there are quite a few on our servers.
americans just do what they think is best, sadly it isnt best most of the time.

yuppers i think that excal would own anyone 1fg V 1fg (maby :p) but then with zerging its much more luck based. funny when people complain about zerging on excal, and then you got some servers like avalon with nearly 1000 more people online :D

It have always been wanted to make EU vs. US games in various games.. way back in the QW era there was a trans-atlantic game played.. but lag destroyed it.. and have done many times in many other games after that..

only games that count [9] vs. DR games and SK/NiP winning over there.. bvut in daoc it wont be poss :/

Edit:

Conclusion EU(swedes) always > US :)

There cant be any difference between countrys.... sounds stupid.

The only difference there could be is that Mythic have "directed" their product to a younger audience.

People in same age with same playtime have the same skill.

I can make a movie on Excalibur where everyone sucks and plays like noobs.

When you launch that movie on VNBoards everyone from the US will laugh about it.

Basing 'facts' on movies is generally a bad idea. Excalibur RvR is nowhere near as good as some think. Every time I play on Excalibur I notice the AVERAGE level is lower then on Prydwen. Ofcourse good groups on Excalibur but the average is watered down by the groups who play 'just not as good'.

Prydwen RvR is just entirely different then Excalibur RvR. Smaller population but on average RvR is of a higher level then Excalibur.

Good Prydwen-groups would do very well on Excalibur-RvR, no doubt about it. Good Excalibur-groups would do very well on Prydwen.

Excalibur is not more skilled then any other server, its just more RvR-populated. Also giving higher Realmrank because of the easy to farm zergs

Got to agree with Puppet on this one. Although it's hard to judge (and you can't tell from vids), I think that the best players on Excal could live with anyone - even the Germans :)

Average groups on Excal though, are pretty low - I play a fair bit in random groups and even now I get people who are surprised that you can use SoS offensively!

You only use sos when all are dead except mincer + paladin.
So you can sprint+ speed to atk and feel ubah!

Sweden rules! which is a strange thing considering we are only approximately 9 million people in this country.. allthough high IT-maturity etc might be a contruibuting factor, same goes for Finland, Norway etc. Since the good old quake days I've always found the hardest competition in these countries. But yea the trans-atlantic games weren't possible back then.. hell before qw you actually pinged 200-300 even on servers in your own country ^^... those were the days :) give back 28.8 modems and q1. :worthy:

I don't think german top guilds are better then english top guilds, just take a look on their server. They zerg and zerg, and more people just to kill there... Same like midgard has here, more albs to kill then albs can kill mids.. But if you take the best of all.. it might get interesting :)
