conserning about guard ability

I was told that guard ability was 1 specifik % chche to guard for a person.

Yesterday i was told that guard ability works like the normal block %.... guard abillity chance to block will increase if you get mob and increase dex...

whats correct here?

If a tank guards a caster or any class and they mob hits the person the tank has guarded the the tank will put out his shield and block it

and if im correct it is based how much dex, shield spec point and old RA mastery of blocking (dont know if this still exist) u have..

im unsure about the effect of small/medium/large shields, if its working better vs many attackers at one time.

maybe some experienced tanks will explain it accurately ..

Correct

small shield = 1 attacker
Medium = 2
large = 3

Shield size doesn't matter when guarding, you can try out at ML 5, with the tiny scarabs and a SM bomb, a Kobi Warrior with high MoB and good Buffs will block any of them (around 20-40 of them spawn there).

Shield size only matters if you are a single Tank blocking for yourself.

i know my chance of blocking for myself will increast with:
higer dex
more shield skill
mob

if i guard a caster, what will then help me to block for the caster when i have guard abillity on them.

As far as i can tell you have the same chance to block for a person whom you are guarding as you would have to block for yourself, so all the things that have been mentioned thus far will help.

Personally im starting to doubt wether having a large shield will make you block more mobs better for others, but will certainly affect your personal blocking (this is me talking, im in poc alot (yes, us PWs are such poc-camping tards ))

Yes. All u mentioned. And some cata items also have bonus to Pve block.

Shield skill: each point you put into shields adds .5% chance to block
MoB: increase chance to block.
Dex: im not sure, but I think dex plays a part in it, and also qui.

I always cap dex myself. At least +20 dex cap on melees and +25 on casters.
I cant cap more than ~20 since there is 9 more stats/resists to cap.
Im not sure if it helps, it just makes sense.
