Hmmm,
All this sounds very weird indeed. Just marking this thread, going to check with the admins. Not sure if we can do anything but will ask.

Will need more tracerts in here if possible. It may just be a router problem around Stockholm and if so, I am sure that the Alter.net guys are working on it already.
In any case, I'll check if I can get more information.

If the problem is based on the connecting IP (like it seems), I'm lucky to have a static IP address which has allowed me to connect every time.

This is really frustrating. First those lag and ld problems, then registration problems and now this

This time its prolly not GOA's fault but i think they could pressure someone on Alter.net.

I'm from Finland but my connection has been good every time I have tried (usually when another finn complains on #daoc.fi). Traceroute shows 50ms ping.

I use an university campus connection so it might be the reason. Doesn't go trough alter.net at all.

Sounds very strange, I think someone mentioned that his other computer had DAoC working but the other couldn't connect.

wierd from my eye is i get in to excalibur, and other servers, but not to prydwen where my main is.
dunno if that patch effect that?
excalibur i didnt had any char before made there, but one france server i had, and get there inside too??!!, but still not to prydwen, dammit.
i see server status, where you choose what server you log, and so far prydwen is only what dont get me in.
if try connect to prydwen get same message as sfxman, retrying, retrying and kick me out.

Mine hangs allready when trying to connect to update server. Error 201 and thats it!

I can connect europe homepages if i don't use proxy. With proxy i can ping and traceroute it but no response with browser. Rightnow is unreachable with or without proxy

my ping goes normally to and back 193.252.123.24 and xxx.xxx.xxx.13 which are game servers, but login server which is 193.252.123.20 and -30 are cut off... after 193.252.122.10..

I suspect that only small amount of players are suffering this problem, and they cant report it to rightnow, and its not directly theirs ips:s fault cause it seems to be in alter.net wich is company they cant complain .... we are doomed.

This is something i must remember when i pay for monthly fees, i didnt suspect something like this happening when i purchased 6 months of play time... note to myself, dont do that again.

Anyone taking into consideration the fact that the Alter.net in stockholm works and is the last one that responds... it is either so that the next router which we can't see is the one with a problem or then the stockholm alter.net one doesn't send the data along to the next.... something like this /emote *shrugs*

Yeap, I think AC2 is released in couple of months!
Tempting, as it seems that we are not valuable enough to GOA.

If we were, they would do something or at least give some info to us.

So far, the only players who reported problems are ones living in Finland, Sweden or some others Eastern Europe countries and with connections going through an Alter.net router in Stockholm.

Same here Eleasias. As I said earlier it all depends which IP I have. With some webby works, update not. With some update works, webby doesnt, game doesnt.

Last night a friend of mine who has same ISP as me and samekinda DSL as me just did constant unplugging of dsl box to change IPs and he finally was lucky enough to get a working one! Now he can't get to webby but can get to updateserver and to play servers.

I'v been trying doing same all evening too... Tried like 10 different IPs and no luck yet. One of the 10 IPs worked thru update & login but not to game. Annoying...

There is news about this on the german site (apparently it's a big problem for german players, like me, <sob>) that says it's a problem of your ISP, basically, and you should check back with them.

That must be a different problem because ours goes through sweden. I REALLY doubt that the germans go through sweden to get to the servers...
Plus how could our ISP be the problem if some have friends with the same ISP and they can login. Plus an ISP wouldn't stop working on some route just one morning without any e-mails etc...
