Congratulations wall abusers!

I want to know if enemy realms or my realm mates are cheating, but if I don't know the the accuser or accused, I need some CONVINCING screenshots

As has been pointed out, you can alter a screenshot to include or exclude whatever you want. And if you've just been attacked or killed by a wallbugger it's hard to line up that perfect CONVINCING screenshot, whatever that would be.

This is a couple of weeks ago. The keep had fallen about three or four minutes previously and was controlled by Hibernia. I was stealthed, on the wall, and I could hear Lathoniel shooting his bow but could not see him. Here is what the screenshot shows:

- I was close enough to Lathoniel to see "Lathoniel shoots Catania with his bow!"
- F8 couldn't target him
- I was stealthed (stealth 31) and yet Lathoniel targeted me, and shot me to destealth me, and then kill me before I could find him or run out of range
- Finster is funny (Iziz had just killed him in the courtyard below)
- I make South Park jokes during keep battles

But is it CONVINCING? I could have faked or altered the picture. Lathoniel could have been standing right behind me on the wall. The fact that he was killing people inside and outside the keep, and was eventually killed himself with a hib PBAOEr went up against the outside keep wall and nuked him dead, are not depicted.

Ultimately it doesn't matter what you think or what I think. I reported it, GOA received the report and hopefully they banned him - I have no idea. I posted the screenshot here anyways because I thought it was the most blatant piece of cheating I had ever come across in RvR and I was disgusted, and I wanted other people to see what he was doing. Whether or not you believe me is up to you.

Oh, one other thing. At that same battle, other hibs were running around shouting that another high level albion scout was in the wall cheating. I never saw it, or any evidence of it, and I am pretty sure it was not true... and so I would never mention it here or anywhere else. I point this out only to say that if I should accuse someone here it is because I am certain of what I saw (whether or not I have screenshots to "prove" it) and not because I heard from a friend of a guildmate who got it from someone else on IRC that player X was cheating the day before.

I would hope that others here are keeping to this standard as well.

If these screenshots were meant to help GOA why are they posted here?
These screenshots will be as useless to GOA as they are to us, they contain no time frame within them. All GOA really need is a timeframe and a name.

It's not easy, you need a high level assassin who has the time to do it. I'm not saying that any screenshot is gospel, but the more information and detail a screenshot the harder it is to edit and thus the more convincing it is, you still have to make up your own mind.
Mallus' screenshot had a line of people clearly inside the wall, he was stood right behind them, facing out, some of them bows drawn. He had a target, this target was on screen yellow name above head and he had the text PlayerA shoots PlayerB. That is a whole lot better than a shot of a silhouette drawing a bow and someone laughing at an unknown target.

My main complaint about the screenshots in this thread is that even if you take them as gospel they still don't show anything. You have one looking at a fort while being shot, two showing someone, maybe in the wall, drawing a bow (No text showing them firing at people). One of a guy not even with his bow drawn facing into the keep.
It's not just that they can be faked, it's that they don't show anything regardless.

I'd have to say no, this screenshot again doesn't have enough information, Lathoniel isn't in the screenshot.

- You only have to be close enough to Catania to see that message
- He doesn't have to be in F8 range, from point above

I agree, it's up to GOA at the end of the day. All I am trying to do is point out to anyone who may be reading and doesn't realise how little these screenshots actually show, that they should be taken with a pinch of salt.

If you want screenshots to support your case, they need to be better than these. I mean have you "really" looked at the one of Godofredo, it just doesn't show anything other than he may have fallen into the wall and was headed back into the fort, regardless of whether he cheated or not during the raid.

Talifer, do you genuinely not understand what I wrote, or are you just roleplaying someone who is not very smart, but very stubborn?

I'll simplify it.

1. No player can take a screenshot that will "prove" cheating (or not cheating).

2. Only GOA CSRs, with access to unaltered server logs, can prove that someone was or was not cheating.

3. People who post screenshots here do so because they saw a lot of things in the game that convinced them that another player was cheating. It is impossible to take a screenshot that shows everything you see over the length of an encounter or a battle.

4. If you do not want to believe that your friend/guildmate/realm-mate was cheating and you prefer to believe that the accuser is lying, that is your right and no-one's business but your own.

5. I noticed you adressed other parts of my story, but not the fact that Lathoniel was able to target and kill me while I was stealthed on a keep wall, and you carefully omitted this from my quote. But again, choosing to ignore selected parts of any argument is your right, and no-one's business but your own.

Agreed, you can't take a screenshot that shows what happened over the entire battle. But you can get screenshots that show someone cheating, the screenshots in this thread DO NOT show anyone cheating.

These people or neither my friends or my guildmates and I don't feel in any way close to them because they happen to play in the same location as I do in some game. I do not know any of them, if they are cheating I want them banned. I'm not contesting whether they are cheating or not I am pointing out that the screenshots show next to nothing.

I didn't really want to get into other examples of cheating and other screen shots but if you insist.
I didn't really see what the stealth point had to do with anything, I'm looking at the screenshot not what you say happened and if you look at the text on your screen you'll see the following

Lathoniel shoots you with his bow
You are no longer hidden!
You are hit for 290 damage
Lathoniel does 46 extra damage to you
You are hit for 46 damage
Lathoniel shoots you with his bow
You are hit for 443 damage
Alrindel was just killed by Lathoniel
blah blah about loosing buffs
You died

Now inbetween the first shot and you dying, where does it say you run? Where does it say No monster in target range? The only thing this shows is that he must have been in within your stealth bubble when he started firing, nothing else.



Now let me simplify my point

"These screenshots show nothing!"

That is all I'm interested in, whether these people cheated or not is not what I'm arguing.

Now look at the original post

"Thanks to some brilliant photography skills of a few hibs, we got some brilliant snaps of you wall abusing in crim tonight"

My entire argument is that none of these screenshots show anyone "abusing" a bug.

Oh thats his favourite side, same goes for Sharp..Dont know how often I have been shot at from those. I tend to log or play a alt when this happens, a bloody shame for the game.

are you serious? i have a screen of myself doing a whooping 4 damage to you while you are hiding in the wall at crim (who said level a level 2 manaspecc was useless), and i have the time it happened written down (it was 3-4 weeks ago i think). not much point in posting the screenshot (could have been altered etc) but i can send it in to GOA along with the loc and the time if you want to..

If /loc is a loc inside a keep wall and he has gained RP.... Bingo 3 day suspension and the name logged as first offender.
