Confusion over DLGamer's DR

Just to say before I start. I have downloaded all 8 parts, got my key, activated my account (It even says so on my account pages).

My problem though, is with the install files.

The first file of these 8 parts, is called "InstallDR.part1.exe". This comes alongwith InstallDR.part2.rar, InstallDR.part3.rar, InstallDR.part4.rar... etc.

Now, common sense dictates that you should click the InstallDR.part1.exe and follow that through (Note: It's default for me, was in french, and I don't speak French :twak: ). Upon completion of this .exe's operations, it creates a folder called "InstallDR". This folder contains various language folders with the .html files needed to show "help.html". This html file basically shows what requirements are needed to play DR, and also shows the "Installation Guide". However, upon inspection of the installation guide. The first text shows the information as such:

-----------------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION

Launch the game installer application
Put the CD in your CD-Rom drive.
-----------------------------------

I cut this off short because the first thing it tells me to do is put the CD in my CD-rom drive, but that begs the question - WHAT CD?! IT'S A DOWNLOAD FFS!! >_<

/Walks around the room to relieve stress

So, I click the other remaining application in the folder "InstallDR" which happens to be "launcher.exe". Now, I guessed even before I begun this that this was the wrong move, since (What about the other 7 .rar files?? I didn't just download another 700mb or so just for some launcher.exe to ignore them and instead patch the whole 700mb itself!).

So I quit that and attempt to unrar the .rar files myself and see what I can do.

Upon unrar'ing all the 7 .rar files (After much time and hard drive space), each .rar file contains an "InstallDR" folder, and each of the InstallDR's is identical to eachother in that they contain (yet more identical copies of the) languages files for the help.html we saw earlier, a launcher.exe (Like we saw earlier), a setup-1.bin (Note: This becomes setup-2.bin for part 2, setup-3.bin for part 3, etc) and also a setup.exe file.

So in total, we have 7 .bin files, and 7 setup.exe files. What the hell?

k, so I'm sitting here thinking "What do I do with 7 setup.exe's apart from execute them? So I execute the bastards over my original catacombs directory (Because it won't install it's own Darkness Rising folder into my Mythic root folder - Dumb) individually and think I'm doing good. 7 executes later, I find myself with a Darkness Rising shortcut on the desktop and I think "whahey, ready to play DR!" - but alas, when I log in (Note: I have activated DR, done all that cd key crap, all engines "go") and find that the NPCs ingame (Whilst I run the actual darkness rising client), tell me that "You do not meet the requirements, please run/activate the darkness rising client" or something along those lines.

So now, I'm stuck, I have no bloody idea how to get the game to recognize the fact that I'm a) Running the DR client already and b) Already activated DR.

The american version was better. QQ.

First of all, you shouldn't have clicked launcher, you should have just pressed the setup icon (and you shouldn't have unrared those other files).

Second, it might be a problem that GoA hasn't activated your account yet, took some time for me even if it said so on the licenses site.

Update: Suddenly, and for NO apparent reason. The game recognizes me as being DR activated ¬_¬

I am guessing it probably needed time to authenticate me or something.

Still, those 8 files were pretty fkn dumb. Why the hell it couldn't have been just ONE executable file, I have noooo idea.

Anyway, time to grind CL5 like I've already done once on US version. Sigh..

Ignore this threat plz.

You should only have extracted ONE of those files, and that was the first one.

You would get a new map called DRinstall or something, and in there there was a setup file.
