Bought licence through GOA last night and started download.

Installed this morning and entered CD Key etc and everything seemed fine.

Can login to DR ok and Tir Na Nog looks a lot better, however when I click on the Royal Guard in the city he tells me I'm not authorised and I get a pop up box telling me I need to be running Darkness Rising client to enter this area.

I'm confused, what have I missed (I'm at work now so can't use Rightnow - cant remember password doh)

Same issue here m8y !! I even tried to re install the dam expansion, same crap...

Dont you need to do some sort of quest (small one) first ?

Anyway.... Try ingame help (F1), and search for 'Welcome to Darkness Rising' or something

People who have started the quest might be able to tell us if suxh a quest is required.. ? find it stange tho. You would think that the Guard would give us a hint about it ..

Yes you need to do a quest first.

Speak to your trainer in your capital city and he will tell you about an urgent problem and ask you to go and speak to someone else in the city. This person will also tell you about an urgent problem and give you a message to deliver to the King. Once you've done that you're ranted an audiance with the King and so can pass the guards.

After that I believe you can come and go as you please in the throne room though most of your interactions inside will be with attendants rather than the King himself.

might have been an idea to mention that quest in the manual, or is that asking for too much? bit like the french screenshots in english versions.. in a rush where we?
