concerned about the wallhack and BWQ3UTL

this cheat/exploit has had a bit of exposure recently and I'm a bit concerned as to whether the league should hold off until a fix is released or not. I would like to think that ALL clans taking part would b honourable but cant but help get a sneaky feeling that maybe a sad few may want to have an edge over others. As this exploit is undetectable serverside its going to b difficult to prevent its use and would like to know others feelings about taking part in a a competitive league where perhaps some players may be tipping the balance of gameplay in their favour.

I'm tempted to say yes and wait for the patch, oswald said it would be out soon. It'll help stop those cocky cheating gets!

Oswald icqed me last night saying he'd let me know as soon as the coders found out exactly what was needed to block the tossers from using it.

Im hoping that SID will get this patch out by tuesday.
If not i really wouldnt have any quarrels about postponing start.

i would say get on with it... i mean the chances of them actually cheating in a full blown game are slim (imho).

certain cheats/exploits have been getting a lot of exposure in the last week or two, but as to whether we should postpone starting the league because of it, im not sure.

yes, it would be good to wait until there is a patch that fixes/stops it/them, but nobody knows how long it will be before a patch is done.

if we do wait until the patch is here, peeps will probably start talking about another cheat/exploit that has been found, and we will have people saying again, lets wait till its patched, and so on.

i think its down to the clans who have signed up for the league to decide really.

do you as a community trust each other NOT to take advantage of exploits, or do you feel we should wait?

A friend of mine brought it to my attention there was a working/undetectable wallhack for Q3ut a few days ago, man I've never felt so sad

I wouldn't mind if the league would be delayed coz of this, altho I don't think any of the clans in our division would lower themselfs to use something evil like this. but maybe it's all for the best that we wait a little so we don't have to get paranoid about anything.

thing is that most ppl who need it will loose anyway, and they should be viewed as shit by the community, as they aren't here for fun, they're here for.... no reason at all?

If they're trying to prove something they're going about it all wrong, as cheating in a game is always teh same, put the commands in and play the lvls with all the guns/invunerability or whatever, and its ruined it (speaking from single player games experience that is, im sure you'll have first hand experience at cheating in mplayer games if you'r gonna argue that point).

Anyway, lets play fair guys, and may the best team win.

I agree with lord .. lets w8 for the patch, then perhaps the inscriptions time can be enlarged and more clans could join the league and let it be more competitive. Can i ask any admin to move my clan to 2 division ? if possible i like to do it .. its more a time problem .. but i gotta talk to my m8 first =) I just want to know if its possible ...

Ok, I'm pretty sure that all the clan registered to this cup that I know personnnally won't use this. But u know how it is, if a clan have like 3 time incredible luck on a war, like going right to hidden opponent (it happens sometimes with only pure luck) other will begin to accuse clan of cheating a.s.o. (just remember when the idea of aimbot begin to be well known, everybody was accusing good players of using it).
But my opinion is that Charlots will play, even if there's no patch ready for 1st matches. Btw, when are 1st ones ??? I can't access to main page (don't know why).

Imo I would say lets start the league! Nearly all of the listed clans I know, and I know theywould NEVER cheat or so. And theres always a admin as spec in the game right? so it will be really difficult to be lame hehe.

I honestly wouldnt sign up any more clans past 4 divisions, it will become an administrative nightmare. Take from me. I run the current european tacops cup in clanbase and with 64 clans its extremely hard work.

I barely get enough time to play this game!

We have had 10 clans dropout since it started but it is still extremely hard to maintain. I have quite a large group of dedicated admins but even then its hard work.

I really am keen to see this league suceed, and i am pretty confident it will

fine by me either way, although my personal opinion is to pause til the fix is released, to eliminate any possible conflicts about ppl using/notusing it in-game. IMO you can't wait say 2 weeks then play on regardless, because if the reason for the wait is to get a fix for the "wallhack", and then after 2 weeks there is no fix and we start anyway, chances are every clan will have learnt about the wallhack in the 2 week period, as much to know why there is a wait as anything else. This would give a higher "risk" of someone using it imho.

I say either start as normal and hope there are no problems, or wait til its fixed, no other options.

I honestly suggest you start as planned, those who blatantly use and abuse it (and i honestly, honestly think you will not discover a single case) should be banned from the cup (including the clan they represent). Detecting it is going to prove hard... but i would initially state a firm warning to all clans regarding this matter and let them decide whether its worth it.

The patch will be out soon enough, but a stern warning should be detterent enough.

Cheating should and will not be permitted in any way, shape, manner or form.
