Ello. finnaly got new system. and i downloaded fraps and i already got windows movie maker.

i had a play around making some crappy clips and messed about editing em (can do that reasonably well enough).

now what i would like to know is what/how do i compress and choose codec for it? i aint to good on tech stuff so help here would be great. because obviously id like to make a movie that aint to large to d/l and is watchable by most/ALL people.

so anybody know what codecs etc to use and where to get them from ? also how to compress em to smaller files?

I asked the same question in the FPS area and got directed here:
http://www.virtualdub.com/download

It did what I wanted it to do tbh, compressed a video from like 1GB to 40MB.

heres my post in the FPS area, it has some instructions for using virtual dub:
https://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=47038

When you open a video with virtual dub, go to Video->Compression, then you can select which codec you want to use (I went for DivX).

good luck with your video :)
