Naturally there are many who buy their top-of-the-line systems themselves...
I for one have only upgraded slowly, one or two pieces at a time.
Then again, I find it hard to dish out money on computer parts...

That's what they use to attain the 800 mhz FSB on the new range of Intel chipsets.

If youre choosing between ati and nvidia, dont look into the drivers, both have good ones.

By the way, nvidia is "cheating" with drivers, and so is ati but not as much. Read some article in a magazine and using the nvidia so called "twaked" drivers it got at best 45% more points than normal. The drivers recognize the testing software used and give more points or something similar. Heres the results using 3dMark03:

Gforce FX 5900 Ultra "optimized": 4722 points
Gforce FX 5900 Ultra normal: 3186
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro "optimized": 4628
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro normal: 4546

The drives indeed would recognise the software used (Such as 3DMark) but they didnt "fix the scores", they just used lower quality in certain tests to gain more performance. And thus increasing score.

PS. Spec:
1GHz Atshlong Thunderbird
512MB SDRAMming
Asus GeSp... Force 2 GTS 32MB

You obviously made these up?

The results here are horrendous so they can't be real.
With my 1 ghz T-bird, 512mb ram and Raddy 9500 Pro I get 3224 points...

Unless the CPU used was maybe a umm... down-clocked Duron 800?
