Lo all,

Could someone please tell me how to join a TFC server that is passworded from the command line.

Assuming the password is "letmein", and the command line normally looks something like +game tfc, how or where do I include the server password information.

alternatively just try connecting to the server when it says it cant connect incorrect password type set password or password letmein and then retry?

Yeah connect normally and when it says inccorect password type
/password letmein the /retry

The reason I was asking was because we have that neat Q3Plug browser plugin for joining servers from our webby.

When you set it up, there is a box for the command line code that fires up tfc, normally -game tfc -console

I needed to know how to get into a passworded server, (like for praccy or a war).

The code you add to the command line is +password "value" (where value is the password that is valid for the server, inside the quotes).

So, the whole command line would read -game tfc -console +password "value"

thats lazy, just as easy to do it the normal way.
wouldn't work on mine, my command line is too long; c:\sierra\half-life\hl.exe -console +game tfc -noipx -nojoy

Jigga m8, you have kinda missed the point here.

Sounds like u aint seen the plugin doodah i'm talkin about.

We just thought it would be nice to join a server directly from the webby. Go take a swatch at it and you will see wot I mean.

Once the plugin is installed and set up, all you got to do is click on one of the servers we have on the site and away you go. No pissin about with ip addresses, you just click on the server.

I've seen loads of clan sites that use this plugin method. You only have to set the thing up once and you can join any open server that you find on these sites.

Actually it would work with your command line, there is loads of space to list the parameters, and the path to the hl.exe is handled by another box anyway so in your case, the command list is even shorter than you are used to using.

THOUSANDS of players use the q3Plug to access servers, you dont seem to have enough intelligence to understand wot the thing is, never mind follow some simple instructions to go and see it in action.

I wont be bothering to add any other posts to this thread m8, I'll just let everyone see how it ended up at this point.

Maybe in a year or two when your balls have dropped you will start to appreciate how annoying, immature, overconfident wee fannys like you can be.

lol, i know exacly what it does, and gametiger can be used for EXACTLY the same thing as i have it on my clan site. and no i'm not and old biddy like some of you, i'm just 18, and it sounds like a good idea but its basically the same as gametiger. i'm hurt by your comment aswell as offended. shame on you
