We're stuck with that crap - Supreme Commander has been put back until 2007.

Heck, if this means C&C and RA will have full compatibility with XP, woo.

Somehow, I doubt it. They'll probably just give you the old version and a text file explaining that it may not work :(

Read up on this, apparently xp compatibility is the big thing for the set, some reported minor problems exist with vanilla Generals. Zero hour is fine though.

Although there's no network support (that is, updated network mojo so they can be more easily played over the net) which is a shame, going to have to use the same old tools to set up network games it seems, not that i'm much of a multiplayer anyhow (read: crap).

Just to say I agree about EA ruining the series. The first games were the best then they slowly got worse and worse until I didnt even buy the last few. :(

Haha.

C&C was made because westwood didn't want to pay for another dune license.
In fact the original C&C was a poor hashup of Dune 2, worse unit strengths/weaknesses, only two sides ( Hello fuckoff multiway battles in the later stages of Dune 2 ).

Just a shame Dune 2000 went down the route of C&C ( ill thought out units, and stupid amounts of build types/units ).

Yeah i loved dune 2 for the megadrive :) was really hard come the last 2 lvls when you were against the other 2 houses... them battles would take all day.

The megadrive version wasn't as good as the PC version.

PS: Last two levels not too bad, as long as harkannon death hand missile doesn't destroy your base with the first strike.

Great luring enemy units onto sandworms etc :-]
