Still enjoy watching The Day Today. Funniest bit was probably one of the simpler, less-controversial ones. Alan Partridges greatest bits of Football Commentary.

Yeah, it goes mostly for slapstick or Basil shouting at Manuel, whereas I prefer comedy that relies on wordplay and contrived situations.

Oh, and I forgot about The Fast Show - it'd be in the "Great" category.

No it doesn't. Most of the comedy relies on embarassing situations and the fact that you know how the characters are going to react as seen as you see what is going on. IE. Basil will crack under the pressure and Cybil will attack him with something

Fast Show = not bad.

father ted is amazing. BIt of fry and laurie i could never stop laughing. Fast show started repeating. Shooting stars was funny as was never mind hte buzzcocks. Then of course there's all the blackadder's. fawlty towers i couldnt really get into. and i do find monty python rather funnay

The Good:-

Friends - requires little concentration and is easy to watch. Chandler and Joey crack me up so much it hurts.
Trigger Happy TV - Hilarious. No idea how he gets away with half of it.
Red Dwarf - Hilarious in places.
Monty Python - Classic
Fast Show - Nice.
Have I Got News For you - Hilarious again
Home Improvement - Tim allen is one of the funniest human beings alive.
The Office - very funny
Fawlty Towers - "My god you're ugly aren't you"
Goodness Gracious Me - the Indians going into the English restaurant was one of the funniest thing ever.

The Bad:-
Bottom - the worst "comedy" program ever. Rik Mayall is about as unfunny as a car wreck involving a bus load of nuns.
Alan Partridge - Pure undiluted shite.
Smack the Pony - And these people got a contract how?

The Ugly:-
Only Fools and Horses - Find it incredibly boring. Even the chandilier moment failed to raise a smile.
Steptoe and Son - never saw the point in this one. Or any punchlines.


And that's all I can think of right now.

There were admittedly funny moments, but the characters all made me too cringe like it was going out of fashion, I sustained watching it only because I continued to live in vain hope that it'd stop making me want to wretch.

Indeed, the only remotely amusing bit was on the advert where the boring bastard asks "what time do you call this?" and the flash one (Jerry?) replies "Your mum!" ... that was funny.
