9300K, 6500K, sRGB ... whats all that about then? Is there a setting on your video card that corresponds to one on your monitor?

Never occured to me before :)

Hi throdgrain

To be honest there are a lot of technical terms, but your best bet is simply to use calibration software and adjust things subjectively. You can find things online, in graphics software like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, or maybe even in your graphics card's drivers.

Note that your computer has color calibration capability, and so does your monitor too. The advantage of the software tools is the ability to have different color 'profiles', e.g. an accurate one for photo editing, maybe an vivid one for games and movies etc.

You can also buy hardware which helps you calibrate things, but that's really overkill (i.e. mostly for professionals). To be honest very few people really calibrate their color (i.e. they leave it on auto as Brooky suggests). This is fine, but it can cause problems if you're designing or printing things etc.

Kind regards
