A lot of respect to be had for someone like Colin Mcrae. He's done a lot for rallying and racing in general, and the loss of another great british sportsman will be felt worldwide.

I can't see it not being him, unfortunately - common sense dictates that someone would have tried to contact Colin and if he was ok, he'd have reported back "yeah, I'm fine" or something. As this hasn't happened, I can only fear the worst.

RIP Colin.


Times Online is reporting that he died with his 5 year old son, however says his wife and daughter were not on board. So, so tragic, I can't start to describe it.

As my dad said: he's lived a good full life and done a lot of dangerous things, but there were 4 people on board. What about his kids?

Rally champion Colin McRae, his five-year-old son, a six-year-old boy and a family friend were killed in a helicopter crash, police believe.

Getting pretty close to a confirmation now.

"Strathclyde Police released the names of the four people they thought were on board the crashed aircraft on Saturday.

Mr McRae, 39, his son Johnny, the youngster's friend Ben Porcelli and family friend Graeme Duncan, 37, were all thought to be on board."
