ok so if you have a fave cocktail then post the recipe here so we can see what you like-a-to-drink-a! if you invented it yourself tbh maybe post a warning or something lol

mine is

Strawberry Daiquiri:

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup sliced strawberries (see note for measuring)
1 Tablespoon lime juice
I jigger rum (1.5 oz)
Sweetener to taste (depends on how sweet the strawberries are)
Small handful of ice (not needed if berries are frozen)

PREPARATION:
Put in blender and push the button.


Yum!

Schweppes Lemon + Gin = The best thing ever.. I go crazy after a bottle of gin and almost always ends up with me dancing on tables stripping down to my boxers

My current favourite:

1/3 of a lime
2cl MODO Mango

Pour into a shaker and squash the lime.

Add
6cl fresh orange juice
2cl DeKuyper Passion
2cl DeKuyper Sour Apple
2cl Finlandia Lime Fusion

Shake with plenty of ice and strain into a highball filled with ice. Fill with 2/3 Seven-up or Sprite and 1/3 with soda and garnish with a slice of lime.

Easy yet scrumptious!

i like a bramble:

1 lime
lemon and lime juice mixed with sugar
2 measures gin (bombay sapphire is the best)
1 measure creme de mure / chambord
crushed ice

first, get the crushed ice in the glass til it is just over half full. pour the lemon/lime mix in, followed by the gin, and drizzle the creme de mure / chambord over the top. cut lime into quarter wedges, squeeze into drink, and drop 2 of the wedges into the drink. stir with a straw and enjoy

Ehm no it's not, and well even if they have different tastes they are both still wines no ?

that's a preaty silly argumentation becuase that holds true even within the perspective regions and labeling. no 2 irish whiskeys are the same either, yet they are still both spelled whiskey infact one might be one type of distil and the other another, one might be single malt, the other a blend, yet they are both still whiskeys since they are from ireland.


and yes, they vary alot, and within each contry you'll find traditions that make thier brands unique sure,
but there is only one reason for the labeling still, and thats geography nothing more nore less.

Actually it is, especially in whisk(e)y culture.

Scots are especially proud of it.

And it's also used to differentiate whisk(e)ys from eathother.

You say whisky, you know what the guy is talking about. You say whiskey, you also know.

Many people don't get agitated if you say colour, but ask a scotsman for a glass of whiskey and he'll throw you in a freakin' well

your correct as to how a scot and an irish man would pronounce them as such, ask an american how whiskey is pronounced tho....

an irish will call it whiskey with a soft pronounce and a scott with a sharp pronounce, no matter the spelling

you can make two identical whisky/whiskies "the same malt the same age and ageing tecnique ect. one in ireland the other in scotland and they would be called whiskey and whisky souly due to thier geography.

so what dectates their name ?

is it grain, malt, rye ? no!

Well, i'd say that the pronunciation isn't simply a dialect thing as in countries where there is no accent, there's still a difference in the pronunciation of the two. If you want to be correct about things that is.

Yes the difference is in geology, and in what country it's made in, but the difference is more then simply that like of color vs colour.

With whisky vs whiskey, there's also pride and such involved. It's basically, even if made in exact same way, the reason for the name being different. An Irishman won't mind you calling his whiskey whisky, but a Scotsman will mind(not all) a bit more.

Color and colour is a difference in dialect, whisky and whiskey is a difference in the drink itself.

With color and colour, the meaning doesn't change. With whisky and whiskey(to those who care), it's a big difference.
