Coca-Cola The Evil

Pretty harsh story. Coca Cola basically get rid of their toxic by-product by giving it to local farmers and telling them its a fertilizer. They slightly neglect to mention the fact that it contains cadmium and lead, enough to have the locals miscarrying at a higher rate than normal, or to cause kidney disease.

This is not a particularly interesting thread, it just galls me how such a massive company can act so irresponsibly in countries that don't have a suing culture.

I think the UK should introduce a law that any product sold within the uk must meet minimum standards and ban coca-cola and other such profit driven deranged madmen until they adhere.

Yes lets allow Coca-Cola to poison people and effectively kill babies just so we can drink it.

I like your style!

I don't like Coca-Cola, I don't like farmers and I don't like babies. Pretty much a win-win situation.

Banning Coca Cola won't stop that. You need government intervention to prevent them doing it in the first place. If they still do you fine them a billion or two. etc etc...

(I'm sure the Indian government would find the cash handy.)

Coke isn't really bad for you unless you drink alot of it (well duh) because of the sugar content.

Check out the 'Cokelore' section on snopes.com.

Hmm, I have drunk at least 2-3 cans of coke at work each day, and about a 1-2 litres at home each night. It's all I drink and I have been doing this for a good 8 years.

I feel fine :) I think the larger cancels it out ;)

You will have holes in your stomach by the time you are 30.

And possibly parasites in your lower intestine.

Don't ask me why I just read the tea leaves baby.

I think it makes more sense to blame the management in India, and the CEO in the states (for employing them), then the brand as a whole.

"At the end of the day, its a funny old game. We could have scored four, maybe five, but our strikers couldn't get it in the back of the net."

"Nice words but that doesn't change the fact that you've spent £20 million on new players but still lost 4-0, those chances meaning nothing then?"

"No."

"Thanks."

Getting back on to the real topic...

Most large corporations are irresponsible and would do anything they liked if it wasnt for government laws etc. Its not just Coca Cola.

The only thing they care about is how much money they are making.

A lot of the worlds environmental problems could be solved if big corporations did the right thing....

Of course diet drinks contain aspartame, and asulfame K, both of which are rumoured to be very toxic. I do know that if I drink lots of diet drinks in a week or so, my knees start to hurt a bit.

Fact : Coca-Cola is enjoyed more than 773,000,000 times a day around the world.

Banning that type of product would be impossible, plus its scrum-diddly-umchus!

I don't drink Coca Cola and see no reason why it shouldn't be banned. Along with ready salted crisps, Dairylea and Sugar Puffs.

Hobnobs should be paid for by the government, so we get them free.
