Right, i keep getting this message every now and again when i boot up my PC.

apparently it has something to do with my CPU frequency, is this something to be worried about or can i keep pressing F1 to continue to load windows?

if it is something i should try to fix, where and how do i do that then? i've been prowling around a tad in the CMOS part of the bois a few times but i never found anything about any CPU frequency settings.

I think it might help if you post your system details, and some details of settings - if you have been tinkering, maybe the first thing would be to return to deault settings.

/come to think of it...this one comes up when your battery is dead.

well i only have 1 room + kitchen so think normal room temperature (20:ish degrees celcius.

but i have a table fan besides the PC (with the side case open) blowing on it 24/7.

i kinda have to as the default cooling isnt good enough for the GFX card so if i turn that off the PC shuts down to after a while.

/edit: but i do turn the PC off at night, i just leave the fan on anyway.

Its probably not related just a mate of mines PC gives checksum errors when he starts it up now the nights are getting colder and the pc is in an unheated room overnight.

Interestingly its a dual boot linux/windows system - it always starts fine even from cold in linux but on windows gives checksum errors when cold.

In practice he now starts it up in linux - lets it warm up a while then restarts in windows and its fine - pcs can be funny old things...

it probably is the battery, but the MOBO isnt that old (i think).

i bought it no more then half a year ago along with my dual core AMD and 550W PSU.

probably gonna change the battery to see if that gets rid of the checksum errors. and then try to get a new, cheap and good case to try and solve the overheating issues. even tho the table fan works its not pretty :) not that my current case ever were but its not better looking now :p

/edit: oh btw, is there a way to get the keyboard to work in DOS when its connected to a USB hub?
