Quite a few old Pryd players moved to servers like Avalon, Lyon etc... now these servers have the sort of population that "Prydscalibur" will have.

question is...

Can you still 8 vs 8 ?

Is the zerg to much ??

Is it more fun ???

Some rvr peeps seem to think this clustering will kill rvr - so why did alot of our top rvr players leave to join these big servers ?

We haven't had the chance to RvR very much yet on Avalon, you'll have to talk to Nocturne for more in-depth experience. However, while I did vote "yes" for clustering, I fear that one of the primary arguments of the clustering supporters is false: large population will not automatically lead to RvR being spread out over a bigger area. The zergs will still be attracted to flames on the realmwar map, or, failing that, any suitable bridges. Correspondingly, it seems that most GGs, looking to do some zerg farming of their own on occasion, will also tend to stick around in these general areas.

Having said that, 8 vs 8 is definitely possible, but on Avalon there seems to be constant adding going on--rare is the fight where we are allowed to finish in peace (this could also be due to our low RRs, though). You definitely need to have a strong stomach and not break down after getting zerged for the umpteenth time, that's for certain. It is not uncommon to see huge zergs with several RR10 or RR11 casters running around leeching. Having said that, it's still fun and a very competitive atmosphere (which I also think the Excal/Prydwen cluster will become).

Avalon is okayish, its hitting the 2000-2200 player population at primetime, and occasionally the zerg is so intense there's no point to play.

Although there's alot of 8vs8 action, but if the fights start lasting more than 3-4minutes the Albion Team Wizard and Theurgist grps (coughs zergs!) start showing up, and well.. the fights just end then :p

I wonder though what kind of underpop bonus hibernia will receive on the cluster.. :p And if Hibernia will be running a zerg like Albion probably will, and what about Midgard? Reckon they'll get enoug people for zergs?

Sounds like PoC earlier. FG camping inside is funny. Especially when they get killed so easily :p

Avalon is competative, and good at times. But it wont be ANYWHERE as close to prydwen/excal cluster in the competative department.

The clash of the ego's will be overwhelming. But once the whine has died down, i think the people who LOOK to have FG rvr will arrange places for it to happen, and the zerg will zerg as normal. That would be ideal, but maybe it might not happen.

High pop gives better 8v8 and easier to find, as you dont have to roam same little area where all the people are and ending in zerges. If just decent number of guilds on all 3 sides are running 8 men groups it will be np at all to find fights. Will be zergers aswell ofc, but when hasnt it been?
