I have read a few of his but went off him a few years ago. Someone just lent me Sacrament and I quite enjoyed it. So has anyone got any Barker recommendations?

I've heard that Weaveworld is good - I was given it for Christmas but haven't got round to reading it yet.

I liked a couple of his books of blood.. especially the one that included the story of the Demon, tormenting a guy in his home. Like exploding his cat against the wall and generally being a bit testy in an effort to earn his cloven feet or somthing.

Anyhoo, the guy was onto it and always made up a lame excuse .. like "Bloody dogs, savaged me cat"

Eventually he drove the demon mentalist and it just decided to rip his head of, and followed.. hmm that would be telling too much. Basically its pretty good.

If you want a right riveting read though.. try Swan Song by Robert R McCammon. One of the best books of all time.

If you like horror, the Necromancer series by Brian *insert surname here* Lumley???? is a great read. Start from book 1 though...

Books of Blood are fantastic.

I found Imagica to be one of Clive Barkers best books. Not really horror, but it was so well written and so involved that I go back and read it again every now and then.

I really enjoyed the short Books of Blood. Imajica is possibly the worst book I have EVER read. Shame really...

And on a side note, being such a fettishist of books, how comes I never even noticed this forum before? I'm distraught.

You have just got to read weaveworld probably Barkers finest, Imagica was well written but not as enjoyable in my opinion. For a short story tho Cabal was excellent :).

Different Writer

You could try 'Once...' by James Herbert. He write's in a similar style to C.B. It's the same sort of gothicy horror type of thing. Won't ruin the story in case you read it.
