Cliff dwellers...

Hi, was happily hunting yellow/orange/red cliff dwellers today when suddenly the know camp came after me. Was paired with a bard but it's not even like I was doing much damage (using NS crappy pull spell).

any ideas why they'd suddenly come en-mass? seemed a bit over the top when 2 could have killed us easily

these guys god funny aggro? I'd wiped out the camp a few times before they all came.

Well you were probably spotted by a scout.

The mobs in the little camps on the beach only go hostile but when a scout spots you fighting one it will get the whole camp after you. The mobs itself don't have such a big range but a scout can detect you from a pretty big distance.

Curmudgeons were always doing that to me from their camps, even though they are still neutral to me. Around level 22 I decided to institute a KOS policy on curms to try and repair my hopeless siabra faction, but it was just too hard. I could pull one out of a camp, maybe two in a row if I was lucky, but sooner or later I'd get them all after me. On one notable occasion around 25 or 26 when I was finishing some old quests, I went to kill a curm named Hugher and pulled the camp. Since they were all grey I decided to stand my ground, but couldn't quite kill all of them before they dragged me down, serves me right for getting cocky.

Could be one of them yelled for help you know, makes every mob in the area become very interrested in you all of a sudden.

oh and Alrindel grey mobs don't affect faction (incase i read that right by accident )

i belive a cliff dweller hunter(scout) wanders around those camps
you were probably scouted by them

Used to kill Cliff Dwellers solo by the Kaolinth enterance and noticed they always called for help, luckily they were always out of range by the enterance.
I then moved upwards to a dweller camp by a fallen log, and had no problems there too. During one hunting session I was spotted by a scout quite far away by a tree to the right of the dweller camp by the log. I ran like mad, those scouts can see you from quite far off.

The day I got ganked by greys I wasn't trying to change my faction, just get a named mob to clear an old unfinished quest.

Does anyone know Carms that are still blue/green at lvl 20ish?? I want 2 improve my relations with the Siabhra also.

I'd have got my "you sense your being watched" warning if I'd been scouted...

certain that the mob I was pulling must have called for help straight away, strange as I'd done no damage (it resisted). Was doing the ones next to koalinth.. very wierd

hasn't happened again in over and hour too!

Hostile mobs do it sometimes when they take damage in their spawn areas.

Also some other mobs do it too. Mostle trees and the glimmers in EZ.
