Just got me a copy of Vandel Hearts for the PS 1.

It was fairly expensive, but well worth it. Probably the greatest game to grace the playstation ever.

Graphics are lacking compared to today, but that is irrelevant when you have such awsome gameplay...

What were your fave "oldie" games?

I managed to get a copy of Vandal Hearts 2 on the PS1 a little while back, but I've not started it yet. Working on too many other games.

I think though that Resident Evil 2 was my favourite game on the PS1, though I do like a lot of the RPG's that appeared there.

I also have a bit of a soft spot for the very weird Jumping Flash games.

Final Fantasy 7 (as stated) is a must, I enjoyed FF8 as well but not as much.
Vandal Hearts is a good one (1st one, not the rubbish 2nd game)
Syndicate Wars was good I seem to remember... Street Fighter is good.
Resident Evil 1 & 2... awesome games :D

Same.

I ended up actually buying the Ps1 disk from Amazon, and playing it on my ps2 with a ps1 mem card in the slot.

I think i like it so much cos it reminds me of the shining force games on the megadrive.

Ah yes, Shining Force. My all time favourite set of games ever. Shining Force 3 on the Saturn is without doubt the best strategy game to be made (even Disgaea cannot compete with it in my opinion). If you are looking for incredibly hard games to find then this is one of the hardest and is also one of the most expensive.

Vandal Hearts was good, but I never got far in to it. I was never too keen on the whole issue of the enemies countered attacks when in melee or when it was archer against archer. It may cause me problems in Vandal hearts 2.

I never got into Gt2. And why did they make the discs smell like a car tire? xD

But yeah, FF games all the way  and worms ofc, AND maybe Vandal Hearts like you pointed out Urgat :]

Ever get Vandalier? (sp) until you get that its worth sticking to it.
The Salamander action is good also :D Some of the missions later are a little tough but I like the simple character levelling and the way you get them into the team. :p

Oooo, and X-COM is worth it... if you can get it cheap (always £30+ on ebay / Amazon) - PC and PS1's best ever game... ever... :D

number one is, like already said, without a doubt; FF7

But i also really really enjoyed;

Metal Gear Solid 2
Tony Hawk pro skater 2
Broken Sword :p
Silent Hill
Resident Evil (must not be forgotten!)
Crusaders of might and magic. Might just be me ^^ (and apart from the fact that the final boss can not be killed in my version :p)

Alundra was a good game. From the same makers of Landstalker on the Megadrive. I don't know how I forgot Wild Arms. Breath Of Fire 3 is now on the PsP of course. I have seen Breath Of Fire IV for sale a few times, but I have never gotten it. I still kind of like the original Battle Arena Toshinden even though it is pretty simplistic. I don't go much for games outside of RPG's much, but Ghost In The Shell is pretty impressive.

Street Fighter was always better one the Saturn though. That machine was fantastic at 2D images, much better than 3D. In the PS2 versions of Street Fighter Alpha quite a few animations had to be cut out to be able to make it run, but on the Saturn it was a flawless translation.

Alundra was good, excellent even. I got alundra 2, but the whole 3d didn't fit it in my mind. It's still good mind you.

EDIT: Forgot to mention ff7, gran turismo and all the basic sh*t. Would say all time console game was metal gear+ snakes revenge, but those were nintendo titles.
