Just wondering how u people pronounce some of the Classes in Daoc :)
Yeah its supposed to be off topic section but it isnt really a game related question as such .

I mean like how do u pronounce your Theurgist
I call em (Fee-Err-Guy-Est) my mate calls em (Fur-Gists)
or like Bonedancers, i pronounce them (C***S) .

Just wondered, cept ofc the obvious ones like wizzys :p

Ther-gist is how you correctly pronounce them
shaman- theres 2 ways depending on your accent and where you come from
theres SHA-man pronouncing the A, or theres Shar-man- usually americans and the northern english:p

Savage I pronounce Savij, but I know some people prnounce it savarge.

Also Castle Sauvage - I pronounce it Sovarge while some people pronounce it Sovij...

I pronounce Theurgist as Thee-ur-jist, while my fella pronounces it Thur-jist.

Lots of other mis-pronounced places, certainly in Albion where a lot of them are based on Welsh placenames (whether real or mythological) such as Caer (pronounced Cai-ur with the R rolled) Ulfwych (pronounced wlfwich with the ch as in loch).

Well i used to pronounce thanes as gimp.

Then again i didn't speak about daoc in real life and quit saying words a rough six months before i quit.

Prydwen -> Pryd-en which if I remember correctly is the anglo saxon name for Briton.

Prydwen is a slight bastardisation of the Welsh (and old Celtic) name for Britain.

Prydain - Britain in Welsh.

Prydwen technically means white British person :eek:
