Went to the blood donor clinic to donate, well, blood for the first time today, been meaning to do it for a while since I felt as though I should after managing to slash my wrist at the ripe old age of three and requiring a blood transfusion to prevent shuffling off the mortal coil.

That was 20 years ago, now i'm told that because I had that transfusion i'm ineligible to donate blood, ever. Brilliant that, I understand why it's been done like that but no wonder the stocks are apparently so low :/

Meh, just a bit pissed that I can't pay back what was probably long overdue, nerf undetectable and incurable brain diseases :(

I shouldnt worry too much mate - all the blood for transfusions comes from outside the UK nowadays - your blood would just be used to make blood factors that arent linked to CJD.
