Been playing Civ4 again recently and was thinking of buying the addons (Warlords and Beyond the sword). I've got the original Civ4 on disk - can I buy the addons on steam? Or would that only work if I have the original game on steam too?
How much is it for the discs though? Steam have done quite a few weekend deals on the civ packages, might be worth holding out for one of them.
Just ordered Civ 4 complete for £13 off amazon
I don't think you can handle a game where you have to think
Ontopic! What is the point of civilization addons ? I never played them since I mostly enjoy playing random games. Can anyone explain what the expansions brings!?

I like Civ 4 but I've decided I suck too much at it - I struggle to win on noble most of the time. Depends what map you play I guess, I like Terra cos could can exploit the fact you know theres an empty continent to find.
Been playing as Pericles of late, I like creative plus you get library/university/odeon at half build speed. Only drawback is their unique unit is a little too early game for when I usually have my wars
I suck at getting great people early game, never manage to get any wonders and usually only have 1 specialist at most. I like great scientists to rush key techs and engineers to get some wonders out.
Also great merchants are <3
You know what button to push to get the "playing" field to display how much food etc each tile gives?
Grattis
I had a decent game last week, on a 2 continents map I was at war from Knights continually through to Modern armour subjagating the 4 other factions on my continent (had a unit with 72xp lol, level 7).
Didnt fancy landed on the the other continent with 2 entrenched and allied civs who were only slightly behind me tech wise. Built the UN and "cheated" with a diplomatic win
I usually play SP games on Epic speed, the one below Normal
