Pretty much like Civ2 really, a lot of the annoying features (like Caravans and Diplomats) have been re-done and make the game a lot smoother to play and less frustrating.
The "culture" aspect of the game is going to take getting used to, I can see it opening up a lot more strategies, and the AI is very good even at Chieftain level (but then again I never rose beyond Prince at Civ2).
You really need to be a Civ-nut to appreciate what Civ3 has, but overall it is a very well designed game and a worthy sequal to Civ2.
Quite a few bugs have been reported, so I guess a patch is on the horizon.
I don't care if the previous version of this game is part of nerd history. I live in the now. I want a WWII game where I can run round killing Nazis. Don't want yet another fps that thinks that killing zombies/aliens/crates/face huggers/robot pimps is fun or satisfying in any way, like Qx, UT, or like, whatever.
One of the first things people notice about the German WWII European Campaign is the controvertial way they didn't rely on the occult or flesh-eating undead to gain their territory.
RtCW can kiss my zomby-free arse.
I want a game where I can run round killing what looks like people. No tentacles, no mucus (unless it's a Nazi with a cold).
